Tony Kelly, and DJ Carey wernt big men

Genocide Organ

No, but are you suggesting we have a DJ Carey or Tony Kelly? Of course, there's nearly always room for an ultra-skilful fast player, but they can't all be little lads. One is nearly enough.

I am in agreement, I suppose I should have suggested that Laois ( for whatever reason ), Don't have an abundance of big physical men, Colin Byrne has a Year or so of growth.
I don't know about Mark Dowling of Camross, whether he is on the panel, but he is Certainly a presence when he plays at 14. There are Countries that just, for a reason unbenonced to people in general, have Big men, Limerick, who also have a series gym workrate, Neath, Derry, Dublin due to population density, Fermanagh, Cork, and Kerry, and Tipperary.

100%. Kilkenny on the whole are just a bigger, stronger team for example. It's probably down to S&C but also having a bigger pick. More numbers means they can choose not to use the players of lesser physical stature.

There's probably plenty like Colin Byrne and Cillian Dunne down in KK, but they aren't within an asses roar of a county team.

Futile exercise up in Mayo. Huge score put up but wouldn't have been any better than a match in training.
They will need to be getting a couple of challenge games against other counties or they'll be well undercooked heading into the Joe McDonagh.
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

I tend to agree with you Redsetanta, as I'm lead to believe that three of Carlows better players have retired. His name evades me for now, but I truly hope that the number 4 from Rosenallis is back before April. Fine hurler, and I thought that Eamon Fitz from Abbeyleix would have been called up, as I don't see his name on the Football panel, he's a right terrier

Fiachra Fennell? Precautionary absence the last day I heard.

Fitz is a fine corner back at club level but it's arguably our strongest area with Conway, Comerford, Cleere, Shanahan and Fennell all very strong options there.

Home Boys Home

Fiachra C not really a corner back , maybe Donncha Hartnett I think .a bit surprising . Apparently Cormac Hogan also cut and also surprising considering his performances for Clough Ballacolla . Both surely better options than some lads left in  there. But I suppose you wouldn't know how things going in training or if lads are having trouble getting back from work or college or whatever

Another win for the hurlers. Although a poor-ish performance.

Derry played a sweeper, had a man sent off and continued to play a sweeper. This looked to throw Laois off a bit, two spare defenders. Looked like they didn't really know what to do with the ball.

Unusual one, had Derry kept the full compliment they might have won by more. I hope they have some good challenge games booked because playing this level of opposition weekly will not help Joe Mc Donagh prep.

Mad Mentor

Couldn't make the match due to work but two points from the full forward line looks a poor return or am I being harsh?
