[Edit] Ah 2006. Didn't think they'd won it this century.

I assume this was the year Kevin Dyas was flying for them.
Kevin Dyas and McKernan where the main men on that side. Marty Clarke put on some display for Kilkeel in the Macrory Final that year, Abbey got a goal with last kick to win game.

if i recall it was a textbook block by the st louis corner back that diverted a shot which was going wide into the net in the final
marty clarke give an exhibition that day

Haven't paid much attention to them but that's a good Dungannon team. Didn't realise how many Tyrone players they had

They would be favourites to win the competition
Cut it fine tonight though

Hear McGeary from Moy has declared for Armagh U20s. Two Armagh families, surprised he ever got involved with Tyrone.

That's interesting, played minor for Tyrone.

Strange one. McGeary would be a big Collegland name but sure they're basically Tyrone

Thought Armagh would have been a fair venue for the Omagh game
It's a fair  distance for both schools to go to stewartstown
Think abbey cbs / abbey vs final

Pitch availability is a massive issue for Ulster Colleges at the minute. National League starting next weekend would make this problem worse as County Boards wont make their pitches available. Venues are fairly neutral anyway in that Dungannon haven't played at Fintona and Omagh haven't played in Stewartstown, so not that big an issue as they aren't home ties for the Tyrone teams.

There was a similar complaint from someone earlier in this thread about Blaney having to travel to Stewartstown.

I do wonder why anyone thinks less than an hour of travelling is excessive, for what is a provincial tournament.

square_ball

I get availability is an issue but surely a semi final deserves better than a training pitch at Fintona?

Usual debate about whether Abbey CBS are an Armagh or Down school?

Targetman

Well the school is situated in Down, no debating that but they take a lot of lads from South Armagh, of the current starting 15 i think its a 8/7 split in favour of Armagh, so make of that what ever you want.
