Another name i missed was Conor Boyd?

Wonder did Davy give Alex Oboyle(oisins) a call? Worth a look at after an impressive season

Eoghan Campbell is a big loss.

What age would he be?

imtommygunn

I would say 32 or 33? He was on the u21 team that got to the AI final round 2013 or so?

If losing to Kildare is our level then we are not in a good place no matter how good anyone says Kildare are or how bad the conditions were.

And that's no disrespect to Kildare.

We think we can be a top tier hurling county yet at our best in the last 20 yrs or more we clung to senior status by our finger nails.

And at club level our senior champions got hammered in provincial.

Hard to be optimistic about the year ahead.

Any of the underage teams likely to give us some cheer?

I think we reached our ceiling under Gleeson possibly 3 years ago?

Kildare are a good team. And have put in a lot of work recently in terms of improving hurling.

They can as they are based in a commuter belt and have the population. With that, many more people are playing hurling. That can only be good for them in the long run.

Maybe with Naas being so strong could have it's drawbacks but numbers are good and the only way is up.

Antrim, on the other hand.....

Gleeson got huge commitment and buy in from players and ran a very tight ship. The powers that be made a huge mistake letting him go.

I thought he voluntarily went? I always thought what he did for antrim was massively underrated. He had us way above our level tbh.

And a nice fella off the pitch
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Na Glinntí Glasa

Would Micky McShane not be seen as the man in waiting to replace Davy after this season goes tits up?

Because i can see no other outcome out of this year than that.

Think there may be another man from your own club waiting in the wings too GG - unless they are lining up as joint ticket for next year.

What happened Antrim in the McGurk Cup- were the u20s not playing in that?  I saw somewhere that Derry play Donegal in the final

imtommygunn

Lost on a coin toss I think?

No he wanted to stay
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Saffron71

Yea, DG wanted to stay on and the players seemed to want that too.  Part of that can be evidenced from the mass exodus of regulars and players who were on the panel for quite some time that have now left during Davys tenure.
