Not sure why Scotstown don't kick more kickouts down the middle, which have often led to a muddle of players over the ball, resulting in Hurson calling a throw up

Kilcoo have won 1 All Ireland, a pretty poor return from multiple Down championship wins.

Quote from: thewobbler on December 13, 2025, 07:50:12 PMThose giving off about timewasting from Scotstown really need to consider that Kilcoo spent 20 mins of the first half going around in circles to kill the clock. Same thing.

Daft comment FFS. That's ball in play. Scotstown were trying to waste time with the ball dead. Perfectly within in their rights to do so, but nobody can complain when the ref pulls them on it and adds more time. Comments like "no doubt Hurson was playing for the draw" are just lazy nonsense from idiots with no interest in watching what's actually happening in the game.

See this is perception Gallsman.

One of them was handling the ball with absolutely no intent of playing football. One of them was lying on the ground with no intent on playing football.

The big difference is context. The former were playing against the breeze in the first half and clock killing by any means necessary.

They're both timewasting. Both a blight on the game. One shouldn't be considered a skill or a right.
To go back to the crux, people weren't exactly "giving off about timewasting from Scotstown". They were simply giving it as the reason for the referee rightfully adding on more time. That said, it wasn't just Scotstown as Niall Kane's 2 pointer free ate up a pile of the original injury time too.

One would argue they have massively underachieved. 2 Ulster and 1 all Ireland.

3 final losses in 4 years.

They have their all Ireland but there will be plenty of regret when they look back

Alternatively, some could argue that they have massively overachieved when you compare their rural community to some of the superclubs with a million members.

WTF are you measuring this with?

For some perspective Down clubs have won 3 senior All Ireland titles in their history and the other two was won by the Burren back in the 80s.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Kilcoo won the coin toss and choose to play against the wind and found themselves five points behind at half time.

Before extra time Kilcoo won the coin toss and choose to play against the wind again and found themselves 4 points behind at half time.

Jesus some bad takes up above suggesting a team with only one all Ireland had underachieved. Few boys need to give their head a wobble

Thought the same. How many GAA clubs in Ireland? Is a remarkable achievement

They've umpteen Down titles, an All Ireland and whatever amount of Ulsters. They'll look back on their careers with delight you would like to think. If not whats the point?
