Dare I say, south Derry bias?! Steelstown will have the highest membership numbers in the county

In the interest of goodwill at Christmas I did think of saying them instead of Slaughtneil 🤝😄

Not a chance, it'll be a South Derry club Glen, Screen or Magherafelt.

GTP

Magherafelt have fewer than 700 registered members. The stats in the Irish News came from the demographics report by the GAA, I would presume they came from official stats so does not appear to be Rossa with 1200+ members.

Basings my guesses off the number of active playing teams may be the wrong way to go, now thinking Slaughtneil as youd assume the whole hamlet is involved young and old?

Surely not little Slaughtneil the small village who conquered Ulster in 3 codes - couldn't be the case???

No disrespect by the way great club

Out of the last 3 county title winners they're the only club without an outside transfer, bitterness isn't a great look fellas. In all seriousness it is likely Steelstown, think they've a lot of numbers at underage & are hoovering up all talent in the city and possibly Bellaghy or Magherafelt

Not understanding your point about the transfers. Newbridge and Glen had players who transferred in?

In all seriousness, can we at least attempt to stick to the truth.
Absolutely no bitterness at all here, the facts are there. There is an attraction for family members who don't live in Slaughneil to take their children back to the club to play there. Personally I don't agree with this, I think children should be afforded the opportunity to build their own bond with the area/townland that they call home not live their parent/parents bond. But each to their own. No rules are being broken.

We all know it's not this little small community portrayed by Marty on RTE but we Derry men will keep the secret on the QT.

What is your problem with that? If more people across Ireland followed this principle we would have fewer problems like those identified in the demographics report. In my eyes Young players going back to their parents club is more beneficial than joining the nearest super club like Kilmacud Crokes

Every club in Ireland has members who do that.

So not sure what your point is.

What did I say that's a lie? Maybe your grasp on Derry club football isn't what you think it is.
As said above, if you had your way the only clubs in south Derry would be Ballinascreen, Glen & Magherafelt
