St brigids won 3-13 to 1-14

Cheers.

We didn't help ourselves today, thought for most parts we played well just st Brigids took their chances, they had a great first half with the wind, goals and two pointers a plenty..

Second half came back to a one point game but goal killed it..

The amount of pulling and dragging masquerading as tackling in this game was ridiculous and no surprise it boiled over with red cards.

St galls were on track to win until then and were the better side in a tight enough game.

Not a fan either of clubs referencing dubious decisions on social media post game, either state it plainly or say nothing.

No neither am I, the game is won and lost on the pitch and that's were it should stay, but social media gives people a platform to air their grievances, it can be a bit like the wild west at times..

With regards to the sending off's One was down the side of the pitch so I didn't see it, the one on the pitch in the middle well he can have no complaints..

As for the game, the weather was atrocious which had a bearing on performances, loose ball, poor handling and shooting at times, misplaced handpasses and so on, but it is nearly December

Disappointed in those names released so far for the Antrim squad. Seems we are using division 4 to massage some aging egos rather than develop the future.

The rules in Antrim need reviewed. CCC propose to do this at Convention in December.
For underage, the parish rule is also supplemented  by the 'first club' (official guide) rule, whereby if a player plays U12 with Official teamsheet, that is their club until finished minors.
A player is entitled to an under age transfer if they move home.
Antrim do not adhere to these rules, as parents usually use the ole well being card at appeal.
There is a soccer mentality with regards to transfers in the Belfast area....' he wants to play with his school mates'. He makes a development squad & is hoovered up by a bigger clubs coach.

I would move 'first club' to U14 , mainly due to Go - Games.

I have no issue with an adult transfer tbh, if a club can't retain a player after developing them for 10-12 years, then fair enough.

There are a significant number of these transfers which come from sanctions.
A young lad sanctions for maybe 4 years and then decides to fully transfer.
It's hard to argue that he should return to his "home" club when he has spent more time playing underage football with his sanctioned club.
However, the sanction/amalgamation rules need looked at. There are clubs with a pile of their own players sanctioning in players and there are clubs who can easily stand alone and be competitive who are being allowed to enter amalgamations.

Heard of a good few names that have got dropped seems to be bringing back players rather than recruiting new faces. A load of SW Men not making it from what i gather.
A lot of ego managing could be happening but will soon see come McKenna cup games. Trying not to be negative because that doesn't do anyone any good but aw well just strange.

funny i heard it is a very different approach they are taking.

If you aren't committed enough or able to keep up you will drop away.

Dont disagree with this.

Clubs who can field a team should not be in amalgamations end of. Acceptance is a Coach's ego boost.    It needs to be 2 or 3 clubs who cannot field that need to be merged together.

Not disagreeing here, but would be keen to know what would the number be for a team nowadays? Are we talking 22 for likes of availability over the year to allow for the injuries exams and the other reasons young ones give?

As entering a team because you have 15 won't cut it when teams that waiting on a game don't get one as someone is unavailable and two teams then lose out..

Tomas McCann called up according to Belfast Live but that aside I know nothing. A bit of experience wouldn't go amiss tbh.

Yep agree. Bringing back a host of players who have retired is a great way to ensure there is no team in 2/3 years. Need to get in young players and develop them surely? Really surprised at what I'm reading in on-line media, if true!

According to Niall McCoy, who only released some names, Tomas McCann/ John Carron/ Paddy McAleer all back.
