The johnnies are fairly physical too - I know slaughtneil are so it'll be interesting how they match up.

Not sure St John's will have come across this level of physicality and power running before.

imtommygunn

Yeah I would expect them to get beat though I would hope I'm wrong. If Dunloy won I would have fancied them but I wouldn't have fancied anyone else in Antrim tbh.

The only time I saw the Johnnies this year was in a league game down in our place minus county players and we should have won it only for a last minute Johnnies goal so they have obviously come on leaps and bounds since then.

Slaughtneil are an impressive team and they bring a serious level of what I would term sustained physicality and if the Johnnies can match that and keep it up for 60 minutes then they are in with a shout. SN can hurl with anyone also, so I'm not saying they're footballers turned hurlers, far from it, they have a real good package of a team.

One thing of note and something I noticed from Sunday in terms of what the referee will allow in the tackle is very different from one referee to the next, Colm McDonald blew up quite a few arm tackles from both teams, CT from Portaferry does it all the time and in Down with Peter Owens refereeing gets away with it, if Owens gets the final then I think the advantage is with Slaughtneil.

Think that Sneill will be favs for the final.

St Johns will def give them their fill but Sneill are a different beast when it comes to playing championship matches. I do believe that Sneill have missed chances to reach an all ireland final but when you see the level that Ballygunner are operating at you dont see anyone touching them.

You'd have to fancy Ballygunner to come out of Munster alright, but they then face the Leinster champions who could be Ballyhale who for me are a bit off where they were a few years ago, but dangerous all the same.
Ballygunner have a bad game in them and if it's that one they'll be gone.

If the do get to Croke Park then the winners of the Ulster/Connaught semi-final will be up against it on a good sod.

Na Glinntí Glasa

I was surprised that Ballyhale won Kilkenny this year. I thought OLG would of came through that final but it shows that experience was hard to shift for them.

Watched the highlights of Ballygunners game v Sarsfields and they blew them apart. even when they came back at them they still fired in two goals to kill the game. Some of the composure they show in front of goal is top notch.

Who was the number 13? Was it Hutchinson? That goal he scored had as good composure as you'd see with any player to adapt.

NAG1

Was 13 not Fitzgerald? Dessie at 10?

To be fair he was lethal at times and Dessie seems to make them tick from a little further out now.

imtommygunn

I didn't think it was Hutchinson. The improvisation he had to do and he did it with ease for one of the goals was impressive.

Yeah that was Fitzgerald I think with red helmet. Great finish with the one he solo'd in and flick past the keeper. Seriously cool finishing from himself and Dessie on the other one.

What was the story with the Oisin's game? Would have backed them to win the whole thing.

Didn't get to it but the Ulster Intermediate is not easy won. Its a lot more competitive than Senior. The year we won it went to penalties. Oisins didnt have an easy run into the game either which has to have hobbled them a bit.

Carrickmore surely the favourites now? Big physical outfit from what I seen on the team photo.

I would say so, and can hurl from the short clips I saw anyway.
