Sorry for bringing up  this case but jeez it is a strange tragedy and the investigations by psni seem to be ( to put it politely ) very shoddy
Why is cctv video evidence only being issued 5 years later
Why was the mum only told about its existence 2 years after the incident
Just such a sad scenario

While all of that is very relevant and a serious indictment on the police there really has to be a question asked as to what was a 14 year old doing wandering out in the middle of Fitzroy at 3.30am?  That's a very serious question I think people are afraid to ask

1. Had been searching about how to ward off Satan etc,messaging Jordan Peterson.
2. Previous night engaged in bizarre behaviour, going outside in rain with flip flops and a t shirt. He ditched flip flops and headphones[later did same with belongings].
3. Stripped naked on bike, probably imagined was being chased. Terminal burrowing after hypothermia onset and drowned.


Risk factors and why he was vulnerable
1. Broken home / absent father who was then shot

never met his Senegalese father who was shot d
 But survived TWO years before events. Trauma of this sort increases risk of psychosis in children/adolescents in 10-18 cohort up to FOUR times. Single parent elevates all risk factors above baseline.

2. Biracial status

It is known in literature mixed race individuals are at much higher risk. [Eg African Americans four times as likely to develop psychosis than white Americans]

West Africans have higher rates of psychosis/schizophrenia/psychopathy as do black ethnic brits.

3. Covid lock down

Lot of kids already under stress had severe impact from lockdown. Probably combination of all factors lead to this. Also was up late maybe sleep deprived[another additional risk]

4. Anniversary effect

It's not unreasonable to think Fathers day would have great significance to a kid who never met his dad in the flesh. Anniversary reaction  is known in clinical psychology as potential trigger, this can happen subconsciously.

The recently released video footage of the wee lad leaving his apartment at 3am and coming back minus his earphones and flip flops is very strange.

Bizarre set of circumstances that video. Walking home barefoot in the rain but didn't seem to be distressed. I wonder will we ever find out what really happened to that poor boy.
