Not many other options really is there?

What's wrong with Corrigan?

Junior Final was a shambles there on Saturday evening. Ball travelling 40m if lucky. Lights not good enough for players or spectators, although this won't impact a senior final as it will be played at an appropriate time. I think any of Dunloy, Cushendall or Dunsilly are a better option. Too often finals are ruined by conditions up there. Just look back at last year.

Could Dunsilly take a final?

Was the precedent not set last year when the county announced Ballycastle before the semis even incase St John's ended up getting there? Now that theyre there I'd say Loughgiel will be pushing for a neutral venue.

Facilities are quite poor across Antrim tbh. You go to grounds around Ulster and most counties have multiple grounds that would be about the level of Corrigan and miles better than anything else we have.

Saffron_sam20

Should be corrigan, the fact it's st John's ground shouldn't matter. County threw money at it to make it a better ground, use it. What happens in other counties?

BrendanAntrim

Agree - should be a consistent, annual venue for finals. Hurling final two years ago was a great experience at Corrigan. Fact that St Johns are there should not really be a factor.

paddyjohn

Needs to be Ballycastle or Dunloy.

Corrigan isn't an option in my opinion.

Duine Inteacht Eile

Of course it's an option.

There are other counties who share a county ground with a club. Do they move finals elsewhere if that club reaches a final? Almost certain Omagh hurlers played a final in Omagh at the weekend.
We dragged Down & Derry clubs to Casement every year for Ulster finals too.

BigGreenField

While you can comfortably make the case for having it somewhere else, if driving growth of the games in the city is still an aim then a city club at a city ground for the final is a no brainier, even if it's their home ground (noting St John's spend as much time at woodlands as they do at corrigan).

paddyjohn

Ballycastle it is then. 2pm throw in. 19th of October. I'm glad common sense prevailed.

NorthAntrimSaff

I dont agree with corrigan. I dont agree with Ballycastle either with a city club in the final. Dunsilly could hold what Ballycastle can

Not a chance it could.

Christ no. We need to limit how many days we have to endure going to a game there at that place.

No one should have to endure more than twice in a year for that place to watch a game.

The parking would be a nightmare.

Even for the semi final there were cars parked up as far as the roundabout.

It was a shambles for the semi finals.
