I was shocked the last knock-on in the lineout wasn't looked at as a deliberate act. She made no attempt to flick the ball back and just stuck her hand out at it

Only person didn't see it was up in the box Red card offence. But Ireland didn't put them away when they had chance.

What is it about egg chasers and quarter finals?

Between them 12 out of 15 exits were QF, one each not getting out of the group and one of the womens tournaments was an odd format that they ended up in a shield.

That same "Go for it" attitude has permeated this year's Rugby Championship. Every match has produced pulsating contests of expansive, attacking rugby, where all the teams are committed to running the ball. From the tropical heat of Townsville in northern Queensland, to the high altitude of Ellis Park, on to windy Wellington and across the Pampas in Argentina, this season all four of the southern nations have produced some extraordinary rugby.

We are witnessing an evolution in our game and rugby's future. The only obstacles to the positive attitude of the players and coaches in the Rugby Championship are our officials and the many laws that are no longer fit for purpose. Our officials and law makers need to get out of the way and allow the talent of this generation to shine.

Lewis Moody diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. The BBC interview with him was a very tough watch, especially the point at which he breaks down whilst discussing how difficult it was to tell his kids.

Your heart would go out to him and his family in this tough time.
Fantasy Rugby World Cup Champion 2011,
Fantasy 6 Nations Champion 2014

That's heartbreaking. Doddie Weir had Motor Neurone disease. So did Joost van der Westhuizen.

He took some bad hits in Rugby like many a man. That the English Hooker Thompson  with early memory lose

Tony Baloney

Ed Slater and Rob Burrow to add to the names above.

Heartbreaking to watch every one of these cases

Regards Moody, I believe he was knocked out twice in the same RWC game (2007) and played the full 80mins, shocking from mgmt. and medical

Very sad story indeed. Is this happening more nowadays or is it just that we're more aware of it because of social media?

On the other issue, I'd say, in 2007, people weren't as clued in then as they are almost 20 years later. But true, getting knocked out twice in same game is and continuing is crazy. Poor management.

Take a bad hammering in a famous game on YouTube to one of those Samoan. Tugalis

@marty34 the incidence is hard to grapple with, it's easy to think the extreme nature of his profession was a root cause, but if that was the case 90% of journeymen boxers would have MND, has to be a combination of factors and might include a genetic predisposition, I do wonder how the modern day phone addiction will play out, surely fucks the head up plenty

Wildweasel74

They may need look at the line up of the Irish team at the minute after that trimming! And Ulster turning over 2 S African teams.
