Having said that they won't be doing anything until they find some decent international class midfielders. Currently Cullen is the best of a bad lot.
You are more likely to get the job than Keane. He is out of the regiment. Persona non grata.

Jim Gavin the obvious appointment, Declan Kidney lineout coach

We'll have to hope Scotland and Wales continue to improve to give us any chance of playing Euro 28 tournament games in Dublin.

HH will depart by November and the FAI will then save on wages until next July during a long drawn out "recruitment process" that attracts an option few other teams would employ.

And so the cycle continues.....

He deserved his chance. We need to stop looking to England for band aids. He could only piss with the c**k he had and it showed. The players did actually enjoy playing for him.

Glad to hear they enjoyed losing to Luxembourg and Armenia. Stephen Kenny didn't win a single competitive home match in his 1st term and the FAI rewarded him with a new contract.  ::)

Is that because he took the club job in Isreal BB2? Or he on the FAIs bad side for comments on them

Kenny deserved the job. Nobody can quite put their finger on why it went so badly wrong - no obvious answer. He was popular and well regarded, which isn't generally the case with recent managers. I'm not sure Guardiola would have done much better with that lot.

He didn't deserve the job, he presided over more embarrassing results than any recent manager and only stayed in the job due to the delusions of a load of media fan-boys who know nothing about international football.

As I said before he was popular with morons.

Delaney left one last turd on the carpet. McCarthy on a 2 year deal, Keane as his assistant on a 4 year deal.  Kenny didn't want him as assistant and Keane refused to take any other job, so got paid 500k for refusing to work at a time the FAI were laying off staff. He was also the Middlesbrough assistant mabager at the time. Absolutely despised in Abbotstown as a result.

You are right. Should have given it to some unemployed Brit that the Ole Ole brigade have heard of.

Feel sorry for the fans who travelled there tonight.

A pint of beer in Armenia costs approximately 650-1000 Armenian Dram (AMD), which is about €1.45-€2.25 - there'll be a couple of thousand Dram spent to drown their sorrows tonight.

The Irish fans will party anyway. Yerevan is a nice city too.

I'd take a qualified Englishman over a stone useless Irishman every day of the week. The attitude you're espousing would have led to Jack Charlton never getting the job. "Find Another Irishman".

There was no obvious Irish candidate when Charlton got the job - they were trying to get Giles back in. Kenny's successes at Dundalk and the underage side put him legitimately in contention.

This conversation wouldn't happen anywhere else.

Kenny done a decent Job with the U21s. He was promised the Senior job when he took the U21s, but could have been a good U21 manager for 5 or 6 years. Jim Crawford has been poor enough.

Blowitupref

Portugal 3-2 away winners against Hungary tonight. 86th minute winner.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose
