Quote from: Brendan on August 25, 2025, 10:42:58 PMGoing by this thread what we can all agree on is the ref cant win. Fancied Dungiven to do it even when they fell 3 points behind with the amount of chances they wasted you just felt when they got a rhythm going they'd be hard to stop and that's what happened

The most blatant black card missed since the rule was brought in.

He blew for a free and signalled a 2 handed/choke tackle type thing about 10 times tonight but missed one when dungivens best player was through on goal. Arguably that allowed screen to get on top and stay there for 20 minutes. Their number 3 was quality tonight. Huge moment.

Dylan Rocks (amongst others) was fantastic, with a fine display of high fielding

The lad Rocks is a player.

Haven't heard much more than an apparent split between the players training and the players not training but expecting to play.

Also rumours of Warnock and McFaul on crutches and out of the game this weekend

jb77

Well those two were definitely injured, warnock more seriously seemingly going by the crutches. Didn't hear anything about all the rest of that though

Quote from: Newbridge Exile on August 25, 2025, 08:59:01 PMA very enjoyable minor semi final between Dungiven and Screen in front of a huge  crowd tonight, 1-12 to 1-11 to Dungiven at full time

Thought the ref kept screen in the game missing the most obvious black card by screens number 3 on harkin. And also missed a wreckless tackle on the same player moments earlier during a goal chance.

Dungiven made hard work of it with discipline issues and few missed goal chances.

Screen support had some complaints about a missed 2 pointer but it was 100% inside the arc.

Was at the game myself, I was actually amazed screen thought it was a 2pointer for even the player that kicked it didn't appeal for the 2 pointer.

Thought the ref was superb in letting the game flow but possibly missed a black for the screen 3.

If we are judging it on player reaction then the Ger Dillon free that was hesitantly signalled wide by one umpire as the other umpire went to grab the flag must have definitely been a 2-pointer.

It was 100% a black card to Screen's full back.

Strange one alrite. Umpire on left hand side nodded across as if to signal it was over then he waved it wide. Ref seemed to be in a good position for it.
