A huge challenge is coming from St Brigids, they have the quality to win it and seem very focused. Creggan will also pose a formidable threat, however looking through their team from the weekend its not as strong as I thought but they have men to come back. Dunloy, I don't see as contenders. St Brigids dealt with them handily enough last year and them or Cargin would do the same again. I still don't see it in Portglenone, the forward power is just not there. So its St Brigids or Cargin winning it come October for me but I have been wrong many times before.

What way is the draw laid out? Assuming Cargin & St Brides come through the groups are they kept apart until the final?

Semi finals are an open draw I think.

Whoever wins the physical battle at midfield will win the SFC, particularly with kickout rules.

At the minute that places Cargin as favourites and Creggan coming behind.

Brigids have stepped up a gear however size is an issue for them, if they have a plan for that they are in with a shout, if not they won't.

I was at Cargin and Bridgits in the league I know this was a while ago but bridgits dominated the cargin kickout

This sums it up pretty well. Cargin are deservedly slight favourites with serious challenges coming from Creggan and St Brigids. Portglenone are strong but possibly missing the firepower. None of the rest will count.

Looking at the Minor Football leagues. In Div 1 three teams conceded their games yesterday meaning only 3 of the 6 games took place. Big clubs like St Galls and St Johns conceding games, Aldergrove was the other one. Then you look into Div 2 and Lamh Dhearg have done the same. Is this a worrying sign, are St Brigids St Pauls the only teams in the city making some strides forward or what is the issue with the others?

The issues are Sunday's don't work for Minors. It has been mentioned time and again at county board meetings that nearly all clubs are noticing a downward trend since it switched. 18 year olds go out at the weekends, they work part time jobs that are at the weekend - its just not viable. We seem to shooting ourselves in the foot at an already difficult age for retention.

For this weekend in particular Feile and Boucher concerts will have impacted both socialising and working.

Would totally agree with that, the move away from Tuesdays to Sundays at 12 is a complete disaster and has never worked

Is SFC quarter finals after the groups and IFC/JFC both straight to the semis?

I believe so!

Cargin, Moneyglass & St Agnes are the 3 championship winners.

No South West treble possible in the JFC as no SW teams entered it.

Don't see Cargin winning it,
Think Creggan are the top contenders to me with Dunloy behind them.

Don't see st brides near it no matter how many people u bring in still can't breed balls,

The other 2 should be straightforward enough, although Glenavy in intermediate having the Galway boys back

JFC has two qtr finals  2nd v 3rd play off from either group whereas IFC doesn't have. Another anomaly by CCC!
