I'd say it's to give every player in Kerry a chance of Senior football while keeping very competitive Club Championships.
Also the bonus of pissing off Nordies ;D
Kerry and Kilkenny are ruthless. Kilkenny doesn't have a football team. Kerry has a club system where the level is more or less consistent in order to have the highest level of competition in order to benefit the County team. Kerry and Kilkenny are strategic.  Guess which 2 counties are top of the all Ireland list for hurling and football.

David Clifford has to be greatest forward of all time. Has already passed out the Gooch. The Gooch used to disappear in tight games against Tyrone. Clifford could easily get 3-6 next Sunday.

Passed out Gooch in what way? Gooch got 5 All Irelands and 8 All Stars 🤷

Ok... I thought GAA had ratified that he has already passed out Gooch as you said there. Thanks for that. Which years will he win them?

The O'Se weren't playing for Kerry Gooch have hardly any all-Irelands,and about half the All Stars. Fitzgerald was one of Kerry greatest forwards  but played at a time Cork had the hammer down on Kerry. He won 2 I think, There Kerry men out there with 6-8 All-Irelands, who where nowhere near the player he was. Basing on how many All-Irelands he has is not a basis. Philly McMahon might have 7/8 and wasn't a 1/4 of the player Tony Scullion was at cornerback.

Some nonsense on the GAABoard today  :D
So explain how Cooper has 8 All Stars and other players who were on those Kerry teams don't have that...

It's also to stop players transferring from small junior clubs to the senior clubs. If you still get the opportunity to play in the senior championship you'll be happy to continue. Not sure are transfers prevalent in other counties?
Although the All-Irelands for junior and intermediate have also made those clubs appealing.

And what does this record tell us about the club scene in Kerry.

All Ireland titles won

Senior 1 since 1996  (Dr Crokes in 2017)

Intermediate six since 2007 (Ardfert,St Michaels/Foilmore,Miltown/Castlemaine,Ardfert,St Mary's,Kilcummin,Rathmore

Junior 11 since 2005  (Finuge,Ardfert,Skellig Rangers,Castlegregory,St Mary's,Brosna,Templenoe,Glenbeigh-Glencar,Beaufort,Na Gaeil,Fossa,)
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

I hope Clifford will get his recognition tomorrow night as the GOAT.  In the form of his life and will only get better.

Armagh18

He's a while to go to be considered the best ever. Ability wise he is for me but he's had plenty of poor years and only 2022 (Derry 2023) and this year so far where he's been at that top top level for me.

Wildweasel74

Oh he was at top level a couple of yrs after coming outta minor to on that senior team.
