Glad that is sorted and hasn't dragged on. Good appointment. Hope this puts the Gallagher stuff to bed once and for all and everyone (inc the county board) give Ciaran a fair crack of the whip.

If only we hadn't won an Ulster championship and the NFL under Tyrone men that would be funny. Not forgetting the Fermanagh native who also won an Ulster championship. I guess Tyrone and Antrim know better than to appoint any manager from outside their borders.

Mucker im like Malachy call Tyrone my home now. So Malachy a Tyrone man at this stage and that's right you went after that Tyrone man and he turned u down. Lmao. If Ciaran doesn't work out wee gerry donnelly the minor Tyrone Minor manager might next try for your proud county with one all Ireland and know decent natice managers.  ;D  ;D

The Meenagh appointment is an excellent one, and was the first choice for many people in the immediate aftermath of RG's departure. We've finally got him in and we have to commend all involved for getting this over the line quickly, and before the club championship kicks off.

I believe we will be tactically more astute under Meenagh and the players will already be comfortable with him.
Tally's turbulent year will have actually served well too - we now have a bunch of u20s with championship experience and also confirmed that Lynch, as the No1 keeper in the county, is essential to us but needs quality backup. It also showed that with our long term injured players returning, we were a much stronger outfit than we showed in the league.

All of this leaves us in a better position than the one Tally inherited.
We should have a fully fit McCluskey and McGrogan by the start of the league. I'm sure McKinless is well into his recovery but it might take a while to get him up to speed. I'd hope the likes of Gilmore recovers from his injury and maybe even Scullion will have returned from his travels and rejoin the squad. Murray was carrying an injury all year too, so hopefully he'll be fully recovered by the start of the season too.

I think Div2 is the perfect spring board for us to recover - promotion will be the aim but isn't essential. Building depth in the panel, adapting to the new rules and getting all our injured players back will be the priority imo.

2026 could be a really good year I feel.

Like every other county we've a portion of maybe overly optimistic fans, but we were poor enough for long enough recently to ensure the majority don't get too carried away.

We still have a good first 15 and hopefully can build some depth on the back of strong underage teams recently.

Meenagh appointment great boost for Derry. Loughmacrory committee not impressed with their best club senior team now losing their best coach at the end of the year. With the youth players coming through loughmacory this could turn to sh1t for Meenagh trying to act the hero... Hopefully not & wish Derry all the best. Love Derry fans getting back behind their county every now and again. 3rd manager in 3 seasons (Tyrone natives).  I remember in 08' Tyrone towns and rural areas covered in signs saying  "say no to three in a row" as Kerry won 06' 07'. Iv actually got a few in the shed that I could give someone from here to take up to Owen beg.
I have always depended on the kindness of strangers. All Ireland Club - 2030.

quit yo jibbajabba

Im sure in your head that all made sense

Good efforts being put across that we should be annoyed by the reappointment of one of the best coaches and managers we had in a long time. There is a reason we asked him in 2023,2024 and now this year.
