What has went on in Cookstown that they are playing in junior while Rock are intermediate. I know it looks like it will be short lived in junior but did they have an exodus of players last year?

Maybe if the Cookstown lads stayed off the beers and drugs, they would've been up in div1 and continuously playing in it long ago but unfortunately it's huge problem in that town.

Cookstown as well as Galbally. or any other club for that matter will have this issue.. heard it about them all and anyone that would deny its going on in their area is a fool. That's a ridiculous comment.

Cookstown had relied on the same core group for a long time and have turned a leaf to a new squad if you've nothing to contribute you'd want to keep that pish to yourself.

Making accounts to instantly come on and slander fellas behind a keyboard, im sure you life is exciting.
eagerly waiting for someone from the island to respond to you, get a life.

God forbid a young cub tied up with county all year wanted to get some minutes under the legs.

FYI he didn't play senior championship, so its perfectly legal doesn't matter if he was on the county panel or not.

Now away and get your cape on and back to making beer (Duff man OH YEAH)

Have to be honest here Fab, not a player I really rate from my admittedly limited time in seeing him play and the buzz  that he has drawn. But I wont be coming in and slandering anyone.

However i'm certain he's doing more than the Muffdan above for helping push his club on and giving up his evenings to represent his club at reserve or senior level.

I suppose it does matter then that he was in the squad but he didn't play and I'm almost certain wasn't even named as a panelist over the course of the Inter county campaign.

Fairly sure he was brought back up to squad when Kennedy was carrying a knock after Donegal as a contingency plan.

Reserve football is on the way out, more Dads and Lads games being played these days than junior reserve games. The CON appears far too often on the Tyrone results list.

I don't think it is solely a Tyrone.

I know a guy who plays a bit of reserve football in Derry, says it is getting ridiculous the amount of teams not able to field a reserve team.

RedHand88

I know in my own club I have never seen as many CONs as this year, at a time you would get full reserve seasons every year, now its maybe 50%. Is it the commitment required? Reserves is no longer for aul lads in their late 30s looking for a kickabout. It's 18-21 year olds and they are flying fit.

square_ball

Speaking of conceding Omagh 3rds have conceded their last 4 games (6 in total for the season out of 13 games). According to the rules they should be kicked out of the league. Does this not apply to big clubs?

I don't think the current reserve time slot works

I believe that's largely due to the reserve championship. Pulled some of the 3rds up to bolster what was already a week reserve side.

Your problem is you're thinking Jerome  ;D

100% the biggest issue across reserve games at the moment. Panels are larger than they ever have been but getting to Aghyaran or Derrylaughan depending on which side of the county you come from is not easy for 6pm on a friday evening..

I've been hearing they done this earlier in the year. Any half decent player went on to play senior reserves which meant they couldn't come back down to play 3rds.

Is Gary Gormley still refereeing?
