And they won't be allowed to go after a member of the current county senior back room team either.

...who actually started it, contrary to a few reports here

I was at the Cargin and Ulster select ;D  game yesterday in Toome , Jesus that silly ginger fella on the line may as well of been playing wing back for them he was never off the field screaming at Kevin Parke , felt bad for him however thought he done well yesterday let it go well.

Cargin seemed to be very light in men in fairness brides are too , Cargin struggled from their kickouts as Brides squeezed hard and in fairness worked well for them was well executed and they seem to be structured well.

After taking a defeat to ballymena it makes you wonder is the gap starting to close on Cargin ??

The gap has been closing on Cargin a few years now and they keep winning championships. A league defeat, their first of the season I'm sure, means very little. Still very much the team to beat.

NatSoSaff

Strong enough Cargin team based on the saffron Gael report I would say. Maybe Conor Johnston and Kevin O'Boyle the only nailed on starters missing?

St Brigids had all their Derry men by the looks of things but still have a lot of strength to come in with the finnegans, morgan and boyle from the county. They'll gather pace now in the coming weeks. Could be their year.

imtommygunn

It's just a league game - would be surprised if St Brigids anywhere close yet. It is Cargin's to lose.

What has been the story with Conchuir Johnston? Has he been injured?

The leagues etc should get more interesting now with the county players back at least.

First league defeat of the year, Cargin wont be too worried

On Kevin Pakre someone needs to pull him on these scrums he lets go on. Against Creggan on Wedensday he let on go for for upwards of a minute until the ball just spilled out one man laying on top of the ball men pushing shoving trying to kick the ball out. Its going to end in an all out brawl in some game.

Take the Mark

Upwards of a minute? Wise up. Parke was grand yesterday, and no scrums on show! Gave a yellow instead of the most blatant black card you'll ever see for Cargins penalty (which we missed anyway) but apart from that he had a decent game.

St Brigids impressive enough too, could make for a good game come the business end, hopefully it won't take 20 odd minutes for a score.

Agree , nail on head about the penalty too , you'd hope not Brides look decent yesterday but jesus them boys on the line roaring and screaming at the ref need to relax and let him do his thing , they wonder why they aren't a liked outfit.

Some other interesting results , Cloney ran Ballymena closer than expected , were you at it Gaels1789 ?

Creggan seemed to make short work of PG1 too.

Injured the last I heard but I have not even seen him kitted out for Cargin recently , anyone from cargin know what the story is , no Tom shivers yesterday either he is in America I am told with the elder brother to follow

Exactly!

I can recall at least 2 scrums. Never said he had a bad game making the point that he needs to be pulled for letting the scrums happen for much longer than they should before a game ends in a brawl that he is in charge of.

Caesar

What's the craic with Creggan having no county men?

Both them and St Brigid's will be in the mix come the business end. There's still a gap between Cargin and the chasing pack, but certainly not insurmountable on any given Sunday.

Spike

On a positive note the much maligned league fixtures clash took the spotlight of the county footballer's performance.  Every cloud and all.

BigGreenField

With a missed penalty and some 2 pointers for the winners not sure Cargin would be too concerned.

The match report had Tomas not starting, is that right? Cargin are a total different animal with him playing (perhaps to the point of reliance).

A number of our (good) dual ref have a tendency to allow hurling rucks to develop on the football field, as the man said find the soft free and move on.

Pg1 score line probably the most notable of the weekend , if not the result.

If St Pauls can beat Agahgallon in 2 weeks  at home probably looking at Tir na nog going down in a playoff (regardless of how poor rossa have been).

Yeah, with 4 draws and 2 losses by 1 point, I would fear TNN just don't have the belief to get over the line if it comes to a play off.

We won't pick up any more points this year with the opposition we will face.

Having a young team this year means they won't have the same battle hardened experience that a few of the missing players this year would have brought.

That and other teams at the bottom getting their county players back just at the wrong time for us.
