I'm sure he wishes he stayed at Lisbon.
Who do they even go for if they did sack him, who would want it actually.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed

That's the issue with these managers they all think they are the one to turn it around.
You would have a queue down the road if he was to walk away.

Thankfully I didn't see much of the game, but Utd's season should not be determined on not winning last night but over the year, they have been shit poor, Amorim isn't the reason why they have been shite btw..

You don't become a bad manager overnight, the lad has proved himself already, ETH also proved himself at other clubs also, Utd is for some reason a more difficult task..

I'm glad they didn't win as that would have put a false gloss on a shitty season, think Amorim is decent but maybe not the right fit.

so why is utd so more difficult
I know there's been loads of conversations on the topic but still no real answers

look at mgrs who have come in to many mid tier premier league clubs and turned them into good footballing teams with less money & attraction e.g. Brighton, palace, villa and so on

why is it proving so hard for a mgr at utd to get 15-17 players who wanna die for the club, give it their all and play with their hearts & heads rather than their wallets????
mgrs with great track records come to utd and leave continuously with their tails between their legs, and its different players in different eras..so not all the same players over a 10yr period causing the issues...

for 10 years plus now, there's been no style. no obvious playing patterns, no consistency
we listen to likes of bruno saying we have to be more consistent, put the head down, hard work
other clubs can do it so what is the issue at Utd????

Look-Up!

There's no free pass for manager or blaming players on last night. I know it was a one off game and you shouldn't be judged on one game as any game is losable but it was a big final with huge financial and morale gains at stake. If they had died on their shields fair enough but he sent them out to lose and it was pathetic. Plays what, 5 defenders. When Spurs sat back and it was obvious they had absolutely no intention of laying a glove on Utd, he still sat on his hands and didn't make a change till less than 20 minutes to go.

A club needs a philosophy but sometimes that's just a word and a refusal to grasp a situation or try something different and get out of your comfort zone to get a result. So in some cases it's the trait of a chicken shit as much as an uncompromising hero.

I see him in a totally different light now. And yes, because of one game.

Utd are bad and that happens, plenty of teams go through the mill and some come out the other side. Social media makes it seem important, its not really, there are two things to play for each year, the league and the CL, that is how clubs in the top tier are judged..

Season is over and out, god knows how they go next year, but at least i can't get any worse :o

That's what people thought after ETH. But it can always get worse. Bar playing Amad, nothing has improved under Amorim. He has improved nothing bar a bit of charisma in interviews. Everything else has got worse. That's a huge issue.

Don't think they'll change anything this summer. But make no mistake, if they spend big this summer and need to sack him in the autumn and suddenly decide this philosophy doesn't suit the club and go a different direction again. Then find themselves with new deadwood and seller's remorse on some of the players let go, things will absolutely get worse.

Man United went through a similar process after Matt Busby retired. He was like AlexFerguson and won league titles and the European Cup. In the 70s and early 80s Man Utd went through numerous managers and struggled to win anything. This lasted until Ferguson arrived.
Man Utd is waiting for the Messiah.

They might be ringing Big Sam in the meantime.

Cesc Fabregas currently has Como in mid table, might be worth a punt

One things for sure, Jason Wilcox hasn't got a clue

Mario

I thought if Utd got one goal they'd win that game but it never came. That can happen when a team parks the bus. Spurs were equally as poor if not worse but got a lucky break and the result defines everything obviously.

A decent striker would put utd up 10 PL places. Unfortunately they are hard to come by.

Even the invisible man in the sky knows it can get worse as in relegation.  Was it a mistake to get rid of Ten Hag or bigger mistake that his replacement was worse than him?

Under Ten Hag Manchester United overachieved in year one by reaching two domestic cup finals winning one and finishing 3rd in the table.  Last season finished 8th and he got loads of criticism for that even though it's roughly the level of that team and squad and finished the season on a high by winning the FA Cup.

The club got rid of Ten Hag when just 6 points off 5th in the Premier League and were still in all of the cup competitions. His replacement a rookie from Portugal with hair and more friendly with the media has the club 27 points off 5th were knocked out of the domestic cups by Tottenham,Fulham and last night Tottenham was rubbish and still found a way to lose that also.

It definitely can

The three relegated teams  have been awful.  Had they been slightly better, United would have  been in real trouble.

Leicester didn't  score at home for 4 or 5 months. Had they been better (4  more wins), United would have been in a relegation fight  this weekend

I can see things been  similarly  bad next season, and I  honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were relegated. In fact , I might  go put money on that , although I'd say the odds are poor , given how bad  this season has been

Blowitupref

Most points in the Premier League while being relegated in a 38 game season was 42 by West Ham United (2002–03).  Man United will likely finish the season on Sunday with 39 points.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose
