I think Finn is good but lacks ability to show he cares enough, Scotland miss a proper kicker

He has to have put himself out of the running for Lions starting 10. Had a terrible tournament.

Many moons ago I got name checked on BBC during a 6N game when I tweeted BBC Sport and asked them why does Brian Moore insist that Fredi Michalak is mercurial, when he as good as always disappoints. Moore actually responded on air with a line along the lines of "that man clearly doesn't have a clue".

Finn is Fredi's natural heir. Clearly he's talented. Clearly he's not an international standard 10.

That silly stuff. He clearly is an international standard 10 who has had a bad tournament. It happens.

That's kind of my point. He's talented, no doubt. But the best fly halves get the job done then add a bit of flair. Michelak and Russell don't get the job done.

Aye I think that's fair, especially this season. - sometimes goes for Hollywood when safe and boring is the better option. The fancy stuff is great when it comes off and unlocks a defence but when it doesn't you can look a bit silly and  it does a disservice to your teammates.

It's the fact that he's part of this Scottish team as well. Listening to some of the UK media you'd be led to believe 5 of the starting Lions backs will be Scottish. They've never finished higher than third and barely even flatter to deceive. They lay down last time out against Ireland almost at badly as they did in the World Cup game.

Finn is also well capable of giving it the biggun' in games the Scots are well out of as well. There was a great moment in the WC against Ireland where he figured he'd finally show a bit of fight when they were down by 36.

France destroying Italy. We need to  hugely improve on yesterday's performance to have a hope

Hoping Ireland don't put out the same team

Hopefully Wales go well again against England.

I watched the first half and it was a very open game, both teams seemed to be scoring at will and as much as France had a fantastic attack they were also cut open quite easily at times by the Italians.

Ireland will need to be able to hold onto the ball much better and work the French back into their own half and play the game from there as much as possible.

On the Finn Russel debate, for every mercurial piece of play he does he either butchers or overthinks some very basic plays, decision making wouldn't be great IMO.

It's very much like when NZ had Andrew Mertens in at out half instead of the very talented Carlos Spencer. Spencer was like a Harlem Globetrotters type player, but Mertens just got the job done, no fuss, simple, consistently high level of play, kicked everything etc etc.

Good to see that 3 of the old "generals" have seen enough sense to move along after this season.

With the end now in sight, here's hoping it's a fitting one.

Is there any way of getting a ticket(s) for the game on Saturday - in desperate need.

Maybe this is Unicorn talk?

I'll be at the Aviva on Saturday if I can't get a ticket what is the best way to enjoy the match and atmosphere in the area?

It's not super close but the Ferryman was always bunged anytime I've been down that direction always decent vibe going on.. Anywhere closer in will be rammed I'd assume

I do know it i very difficult to get any 6N tickets, never mind a game of this magnitude.

Depends how much you want to go. Im sure you could get a ticket online if you are happy to pay 300/400 quid?

I wouldn't go to much rugby games so don't know how it works with touts selling tickets outside the stadium etc but you can always get down early and try
