McNicholl might add a bit going the other way but he'll have to improve in the shot stopping department.

We'l be going nowhere with Tohill in the middle and Baker getting exposed with these new rules thats for sure

A lack of real star quality all over the pitch on the showing in the 3 league games so far

Shadow of the team weve been used to this last few years. Squad depth is non existent. We are in a really tough place and I hate to say it but the new rules dont suit this team

It's to be expected that we would be poorer defensively given the turn over of players due to injuries and retirements, but to be so open and poor at following basic runners is worrying. The bottom line is we have too many players who are just not good enough for county level all over the pitch, main among them being Ben McCarron, how he is starting a senior intercounty game is beyond me. And I'd love to know what raffle they picked McNicholl out of to do goals. A decent outfield intermediate player all of a sudden plucked out of know where to do goals. Not his fault, he hasn't done a whole lot wrong and is doing his best but questions have to be asked as to how or where his name came from when looking for this outfield keeper out of all the players in the county. Unless he's hoofing it down the middle he can't pick a man out from his kickouts, and he isn't a shot stopper obviously. Even as an additional outfield player he is offering very little, not a scoring threat, not creating an overlap and not engaging opposition players. Just don't understand where the idea came from at all.

The worst of it is there is no one out there at the minute that we can replace these players with that are county standard, that arent already injured. I think this could be the start of a rebuilding process. Few years away yet before we reap the rewards of the minor teams and start to get some of them through.

Brendan

Those minor teams have been conditioned under the old rules and there was no stand out forwards in those teams, it's been painfully obvious these last few years at senior what we needed was forwards so still going to be lacking for a while yet

JGDoire

Murray superb when he came on. Showed a bit of character and could and should have won it.

themania1

Great result for us at the finish up, given the first half.

Cluborcountywhynotboth

Super effort by the lads in the second half. What they lack in ability they made up for in sheer effort. Massive difference when the brought Murray on. Good to see Padraig back at the end too.

Poor first half and everyone was doom and gloom. Great character shown in the second half and murray led the comeback. We probably needed a win though as it's gonna take at least 6 points to stay up. Galway are always tough though and they seem to be the form team regarding 2 pointers, they scored another 4 tonight after scoring 7 the last day. Even if we get relegated we are developing a bit of squad depth with some of the subs doing well.

Mario

Great performance second half and encouraging to do it against maybe the best team in the country at the minute. We are building well and could be in a good place come championship. The likes of Neil Mcnicholl and Tohill improving every game. Lachlan Murray unreal, he'll do some damage in the summer.

NotedObserver

Murray be best kept as impact sub at the moment as they need something from bench. Not sure about Derry but the players certainly still maintain the belief and the work ethic that will win games in the championship

lenny

Read last week that Derry had 7 debutants in the first 2 games. Is that up to 9 now with Bradley and Mcmonagle getting game time. Hopefully that'll mean a stronger squad long term but also hopefully we get some of our injured players back soon.

Derry Man

Decent result in the end up today. Would love to know what world these men that are saying we're better than Donegal live in. Won't single out players on an anonymous forum but a lot of that panel are not at the standard to play Division 1 football.
