What do you mean nothing in Lisneal? Its got nothing to do with how far back the project has been developed. Why was it the only funding that was green lighted in Derry? Why did the Department of Education have to retract their statement on it the other night? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what is going on here. Its a disgrace what is going in Derry with regards to a lack of funding. Not only sectarianism, but we have to contend with a Belfast centric bias as well.

What is the back story to this?

A school in Derry got awarded over £700K to upgrade it's soccer pitch even though they never applied for it under the normal scheme.
They had a meeting with some DUP representatives and low and behold they got the money via a different fund which was limited to £500k, but when this was investigated this amount specified has been removed from their DoE website.

A further example no doubt of why the British Government (Exchequer) can not wait to get rid of NI and why the Irish Exchequer would be happy for the can to be kicked down the road for a good few years yet.

The problem is too many of the 'working class' are not big believers in actually working.

Exactly. Disincentivise lying on your hole and you'd see economic inactivity start to decrease accordingly.

Kevin Bridges does a great sketch of paying unemployed people £1k a week and the economy would be bouncing. Spending it on fags and drink...highly taxable goods.

Does no harm to name and shame, whether it makes much difference is another thing but anyone who does this then good enough for them, no sympathy.

I remember years ago seeing such cases in our local paper with offenders named.

Did not realise SF had instructed DfC back in 2020 not to publish names anymore, fail to see the reasoning / agenda behind this.

As long as that goes from the top to the bottom
