Quote from: bannside on February 10, 2025, 10:10:47 AMSpecial shout out to Odhran Doherty from Casements (son of Owen) who won a McRory Cup medal playing in midfield. He's the guy who hit 11 points against St Brigids in county under 16 final last year.

Owen played at Maghera back in the day, and his wife Claire also attended as far as I know. Claire went on to captain Slaughtneil camogs and as far as I recall won Ulster Camogie player of the year.

Proud day for them all, and a very bright future in Saffron awaits young Odhran.

Doesn't he hurl for Slaughtneill as well?

bannside

Yes he hurls for Slaughtneil and football for Roger Casements.

What did Mc Manus say?

Hopefully they don't entice him over there then!!

He is top quality and has been for a few years that I have seen him playing.

Is this allowed ? Antrim doesn't permit when roles are reserved.A lad playing football for a Derry club can't sanction to play hurling for an Antrim club

FactCheck

McManus should mind his own and stop letting on he knows what a football is let alone advice what they should do.

What's a performance coach?

That's going well isn't it......😂😂😂

So that was it? He didn't say they have to move the game elsewhere, he's just asked the question how do we pick the fans that get to the game.. Move it to Ballycastle holds 4,900

I agree, Ballycastle is the place for it and I'm not saying it in jest.

Duine Inteacht Eile

Of what advantage would it be to us to play it in Ballycastle? May as well play it in a neutral venue of the Ulster Council's choosing than move it to Ballycastle.

It's in the county. It's a county ground. It holds more than Casement.

And?
I'd say most of our players haven't played much football there at all. Is that not kind of the point of having a home venue.
Ballycastle is as neutral as anywhere.

Take the Mark

Ballycastle? My word, theres some ridiculous statements on here but thats up there.

You men realise the footballers want it in Corrigan because its to their advantage? You understand that yeah?

Of what advantage would it be for them to play it in Ballycastle? I'd wager that not a single 1 of them have played football there. Its ideas like that sometimes which tell me how this county is in such a state.

The Ulster Council are being obtuse, why not be obtuse back, if not Corrigan, which is the preferred choice, bring it to Ballycastle, the 3,500 Armagh supporters would hate to miss the game and I do feel that they have been messed about also, so, keep it in the county, moving it to another county ground wouldn't really change the point that maybe none of them have played there, I'd say most of them haven't played in too many county grounds too many times too.

There is some jest in it of course, if I was looking at a ground it would be Owenbeg possibly but its a mess not of our own doing, and not playing the game could cost Antrim entry into the championship next year also
