Ain't too many county players with wives and kids mate.

I've just seen the ulster gaa statement on 'health and safety' regarding their decision. What a load of contrived bullshit! Can't wait to see Antrim stick to their guns and Ulster either losing a chunk of cash, or having to back pedal AGAIN. Comedy show.

Corrigan has a certain capacity ,
It can be increased safely with temporary areas, more stewards etc but not by much - this would all be in compliance with H&S.

Antrim will advise Armagh how many tickets are available for their supporters, how Armagh allocate those is up to them.

If Antrim hold their ground Ulster Gaa do not have a leg to stand on (unless there is prior written requirements for competition entry on stadium capacity, on the basis the Cavan game was held at Corrigan that would appear not to be the case).

Everything else is just noise about money (and being sarky about the Armagh City based Ulster Gaa).

I couldn't care less personally where the game is played but the bit in bold is incorrect. Every county is obliged to facilitate all season ticket holders and if they cannot...

You got the small print on that?

I'm a member of the lgfa so I doubt they'll have it but such a response let's me know you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Good article by Cahir OKane in yesterday's Irish News. Well worth a read.

Time for Antrims delegated officials to stand up for their players, their management, and their county.

This is where you got your mandate from!

Antrim have had to endure the casement mess and now the Ulster council want to take away home advantage against the all Ireland champions
You couldn't make this stuff up
I'm with players on this - tell them where to stick it

100% but I fear there will be some sort of back room deal done. Sure we love those!

Bizarre comments from McManus. Is he trying to protect the Hurlers from punishment if the footballers don't play?

Quote from: RedHand88 on February 07, 2025, 01:22:46 PMUnpopular opinion, but I'm leaning towards Ulster GAA on this. Corrigan Park is not fit for purpose for an Ulster Championship match. Antrim have the opportunity to host the game, it is up to them to find a venue suitable.
This isn't like the Newbridge debacle a few years back which was an obvious cash grab.

Antrim had a venue suitable to host it and were told to hand the keys over to the Ulster Council. That project failed. If it's not Corrigan, take it to Ahoghill. Feck Ulster.

Not Factually Correct there SS

Good podcast on the Corrigan or nowhere saga. Public opinion firmly with Antrim on this. Need our county officials to be strong and back their own players to the hilt.

Hectic

Corrigan debate simple - stand our ground and let Ulster force the issue if they have the authority in black and white around capacity and/or catering for all season ticket holders.  Our officials are probably aware of what they have in this regard anyway.

See some still pining for players from certain clubs.  Forget that and back the lads in the squad.

Lot of the lads people mention are in the twilight of their careers which, aside from the demands of county football on the body, means they are probably more likely to have other commitments, not least family. Move on!

Special shout out to Odhran Doherty from Casements (son of Owen) who won a McRory Cup medal playing in midfield. He's the guy who hit 11 points against St Brigids in county under 16 final last year.

Owen played at Maghera back in the day, and his wife Claire also attended as far as I know. Claire went on to captain Slaughtneil camogs and as far as I recall won Ulster Camogie player of the year.

Proud day for them all, and a very bright future in Saffron awaits young Odhran.

It was as politically correct answer without saying anything of significance as you could get.

Neil is on the HDC so won't upset the masters.

There'll be huge pressure put on Frankie Quinn to get Antrim to bow down, mark my words.

He's caught between a rock and a hard place on this.
