As I said Kevin Feely has been on Off the Ball a few times and is chats to whoever whenever and he also does some bits to promo his own business. He won't get dropped because he is a top player.

Your man is very limited and I know the fact he was Kildare Player of the Year 2023 helps to grab the headlines, but Ben McCormack got an All Star nomination that year and he was nowhere near the conversation.

He might have been our most improved player, but this is 2025 and a few lads from last year are not in there after all that mess. Dan Flynn didn't make the match panel for tomorrow wither.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

absolute joke that a goal keeper is now a goal scorer. Laois had no chance there, 12 vs 11 so they have to split somebody leaving space for the keeper to just walk straight through. The rules have to change there's no way that should be happening!

what do you expect them to do? They are outnumbered. Aye Laois are pure dung but that's the point, they have even less of a chance now that teams can attack with a free man.

Not allow the goalkeeper to run into that amount of space with four Laois players trailing behind him.

cheers captain obvious👍 think that's easier said than done. There's 4 Laois players all marking 4 Offaly forwards. They shouldn't have an extra one to deal with. Yes maybe there was a bit of miscommunication and 1 had an unfortunate slip taking him out of the game, but they shouldn't have to worry about the goalkeeper being a threat because he shouldn't be there in the first place.

If you watch no10 for Laois its mainly his fault, he follows his man out the wing. His body position is all wrong and he should have cut the GK off. He runs out of the picture to the right and creates a running lane.

Captain Scarlet

If you stop the video at stages there is one where the keeper runs past 3 lads who are not watching him and just standing in a line on the 21 with no one managing the middle.

Lads got away with marking space for years instead of having to stick with a runner, knowing there were bodies behind them.

It was 12 v 12 actually. Poor basic defending by Leix was the root cause.

Captain Scarlet

How do overall my fellow 3rd tier stalwarts?

The Sligo win for Kildare was much more satisfying than the first night. Ben McCormack got on thbe field and other subs made a difference.

Can I ask how good are Offaly? It's hard to know sometimes as you would hear of lads missing and others not being available in terms of the opposition, but they do seem to be going well.

Laois Rising

Offaly bossed Laois on Sunday. Were a lot sharper. Having not played the week before did contribute to Laois' poor start and poor execution of shooting and decision making. Laois are lightweight in attack with 2/3 of the best forwards in the county either injured or not committing for the year so it is hard to gauge where a team like Offaly is really at.

Laois will struggle as the old rules probably helped them a lot as McNulty is excellent at getting a team set up defensively and putting a structure in place to limit the opposition's attacking threat. This was the main reason why Laois made the Tailteann Cup Final. It might take McNulty a number of games to develop a new way of playing that doesn't leave Laois to exposed defensively- hopefully last Sunday will be the last time we see a goalkeeper being giving the space to run into pretty much unopposed and score a goal into the Laois net.

Anyone see darragh mcgurn having a whole broadcasting team with him at the ferm vs Antrim game at the weekend. Not sure how I feel about one player getting so much attention, this attention being brought to him by his own company..

I seen that out in ederney myself. I was wondering what that nonce Petey Performance was at up on the hill videoing the game. Then after I seen sunbeds McCabe yapping to McGurn in the stands in front of the camera.

I'd agree with you there magpie, there's not a bit of need for all that fancy camera shite in the gaa. There's a reason Kevin O C got dropped from Kildare (not because he's 100kg, but his social media).
