Ah jases that's awful.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Poacher seems to be struggling. He only seemed to know defensive football, teams have to play with new rules. Hardly any locals in the leitrim management.

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on February 08, 2025, 04:42:01 PMLeitrim a disgrace for a county that concentrate solely on football.

They should be taking inspiration from fermanagh.

Less clubs; with nearly as many soccer clubs and lots of other sports but still punch above their weight.

Of the Leitrim starting team from the Div 4 final v Laois last year only four started today Mark Diffley,Jack Foley,Riordan O'Rourke and Tom Prior. Take that amount of starters out of Fermanagh's team or indeed any Div 3,4 team they would greatly struggle.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

twohands!!!

Leitrim a 23 point loss at home to Laois to follow up their 13 point loss to Clare in the first round.
Zero points on the board and a score difference of -36 already after 2 games.
Avoiding relegation looks like it would take a massive miracle even at this early stage.
You wonder would there be a chance of a heave in the not so distant future - management might not survive the league, nevermind the championship.

Fermanagh whilst not to that extent always have a fairly big turnover of players

They have lost quite a few which is partly down to the current management. Leitrim have some good players. There was a good few involved in the Sigerson this year and Tom Prior will be playing in the final for DCU. Barry McNulty with UCD also, though he pulled the hamstring in the Semi.

Down to the current management or lost a lot of them many months ago hence why Moran and Graham left also?

McNulty was regularly getting treatment during the game on Wednesday night and it wasn't wise by UCD to let him take a penalty as it caused more damage on his hamstring.  Didn't play today will miss the Sigerson cup final now as according to reports he's expected to miss between four and six weeks with his hamstring injury.

Leitrim hurlers going well in Div. 4.

And me thinking they were going to 'terminate' their senior hurlers a year back.

How ironic?

Is it a bit of a perfect storm. In the old rules Poacher may have been able to lock it down a bit more at the back. Although, missing those numbers is something no county could manage.

Kildare rolling in on Sunday isn't ideal...there are a few lads really pushing for starts so even a rotation might not be great.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

I don't recall any home team in Div 3 on these odds before.

Leitrim 40/1
Kildare 1/100
Draw 50/1

SouthOfThe Bann

Leitrim v Kildare - Kildare could field their intermediate champions in this game and still come out with the win, such is the demise of Leitrim this year. Kildare by 27.

Offaly v Antrim - Offaly seem to be on a crest of a wave here. Antrim will be no pushovers though. Offaly by 2.

Laois v Sligo - Very tough game to call here. Hard to read to much into laois big win the last day. Sligos need us greater and it might be enough to get them over the line. Sligo by 3.

Clare v Fermanagh - new rules should suit traditional footballing outfits like Clare. Fermanagh seem to be in a bit of tradition. Clare by 4.

Bord na Mona man

Offaly 2-11 Antrim 0-13
Antrim down to 13 men now. 2 players sent off early in the 2nd half

Captain Scarlet

Are Offaly looking that good? I know losing 2 men would slant the final score there.

Ah Jaysus, poor aul Leitrim. It was actually sad to see it yesterday. Men against boys. Like a Junior team playing Seniors, they got frazzled on the ball.

Then they tried some 'smart' plays that backfired. Poacher is the wrong man for the 3 up era too.

Leitrim were expected to be out of their depth with many lads not committing etc.
Sligo are the biggest disappointment in D3 to date anyway.
Another manager not suited to the 3 up/back scene?

Certainly appears that way, Sligo greatly underachieving to not at least be in the mix for promotion and now a fight on their hands to avoid relegation.
