Listen, it's easy saying teaching  be the same if they were all taught together.. Holy Trinity Ctown, or St Patricks back in the day, they done tests like most schools, and streamed them on ability. The bottom class may have had people with learning difficulties,  back then getting statementated was non-existent. And some very rough lads. That class was basically known as the wild bunch and teaching them was minimal unfortunately. Things have improved alot these days, but pupils still get lost ever year, due to lack of small class teaching and children never getting diagnoses with learning issues.

Children will get through, regardless of what school they go to. That's life. They're resilient.

Parents are the main educator in a child's life. That's fact. Moreso than the teachers. Too many parents, in my opinion anyway, want to blame schools and teachers for their child's lack of ability in terms of their academic studies.

For me that's just giving teachers a by-ball. I don't bring the car to the mechanics and then fix it myself.
Parents have a roll in education of kids without a doubt. But the teachers have a massive one as well, and should be accountable when they're sh!te at their job.

But what if your kid is just thick? Or abusive? Or no intention of learning and just there for the craic? Only so much you can do

In other DUP news, despite half a million people waiting to see a consultant, Gregory Campbell MP has intervened to reduce the amount of GAA content on a UU video. Well done Gregory.

100% correct.

A lot of parents think their kids are A Stars pupils. When they're not, it's the teachers or school's fault.

Probably parents who've never brought their kids to a library or read a book to them etc. Just expect for them to be turned into a genius.

If parents carried so much, they wouldn't hand their kids phones or X-Boxes at 5 yers of age.

It's an easy fix for parents to blame teachers. If parents cared so much, should they not be out protesting at the Eduction Authority for class sizes to be limited to 15 pupils in each class etc.?

It was squeaky bum time for him last time to get re elected after a few years not being his usual bigoted self so he must feel he has to resort back to these silly attacks to win back voters

I remember years ago Jim Allister giving off about to many people wearing GAA tops in J'town.

At the end of the day the majority of those in the Unionist side who have the brains to go to Uni usually go across the water, probably because they realise how backward thinking their own community is.

If they're thick, I'd like to think the teacher will still try their best. Or are you saying Teachers should only try with the brightest?
If they've no intention of learning or abusive, I'd expect the school to have informed the parents of this so parents will be aware of the issues. You can't say some children won't do well in school so therefore can never blame the teachers. That's just nonsense.

Why the rush to blame anyone? There are a million moving parts and sometimes it doesn't work out as you might have hoped.

Indeed. And often it can be a combination. But it's just a discussion around education, schools and teachers in general and where issues with the system can occur.

That's about the height of it.  Rise up the knuckledragging bigoted voters  by  throwing a wobbler about something related to  the GAA  , the Irish language  or  a banned orange March

Retaining their seat, and their cushy  salary, that's what it's all  about.  The likes of him will say or do  anything to  hold onto that

Please point out in my post were I said teachers don't try?
