Fully agree, the paid manager and coach is the ruination of the game. You'll find that most of the teams playing negative football have outside management teams in place. The fear of losing and being put off the money train. Very hard to outlaw, if a rule was brought in that no outside managers allowed you'd get get some patsy to be named manager and real guy would still be getting paid off the record. Clubs need to put a stop to it themselves. One club I know paid out 2700 a month on management team

There's boys nearly getting that on their own ffs

For a complete management set up a cost of 2700 a month is probably below average, I would say. Season lasts 9 months, so 2700 x 9 = 24300.
That's not bad if you get a trainer and S&C coach included but honestly, I know plenty of clubs paying much higher than that for a full set up.
There are clubs in Tyrone and Derry paying a manager, a coach, a S&C coach, a goal keeper coach as one set up

Onthe40

add food, Veo, travel expenses for players, physio on top of that...physio costs colossal in most clubs

bogball88

You are probably forgetting about the most important element of the backroom team-the nutritionist

Errigal vs Clann Éireann game is off at the weekend so I hear.

Has the league been scrapped yet? Surely this can't go on?
