Quote from: JohnDenver on November 13, 2024, 10:42:30 AMCan we actually be sure that this will be it sorted now?

What's the chances of it not being ratified at the county board meeting on Thursday night given the tensions that exist after the Gallagher carry on

I think he was in Owenbeg last night so its sounds legit.
Never mind the players, county board has anyone checked with the morality police around Tyrone,Armagh Cavan etc if this appointment is acceptable to them. Hopefully Tally has no skeletons hidden  away
Find it bizarre that they have appointed another Tyrone man given the uproar the last appointment caused.

Derry Man

Quote from: Uncle Phil on November 13, 2024, 12:34:29 PMSeriously underwhelming appointment if the Tally news is true. Especially given his tendency towards defensive football, with the new rules promoting attacking play imminent.
What other recent all Ireland winning coach could we have got? Also, what manager or coach doesn't have a tendency towards defensive football? Our most successful  manager in recent history didn't exactly play free flowing football

I'd have found that appointment underwhelming 3 months ago.

But recently I worried the appointment would be a whole lot worse than what it is.

If that makes sense.

I fail to understand how Tally is any better than a number of managers in Derry? At least its two Derry man in the backroom team. In saying that I wish him well and full steam ahead.

Also have to agree with a few posters, Keenan and Barker need to resign following this mess

Harte last year, a better appointment than Tally this year. Who Vinny Corey end up with?. Is it Barker sounded out the last 2 appointments?

Would Derry people be happy with staying in division one and reaching last 8 of all ireland in 2025 and take it from there?

We be regelated, not worried about that, but they need to go all out to beat Donegal, same mindset they had against us last year

New or old rules the team that defends best will win the All Ireland in 2025.

Behave. Paddy Tally a superb operator, good enough for Kerry to make his coaching participation a priority, and people here willing to say he's not good enough for Derry. Fantastic coach who will adapt to new rules and play to team strengths.

No pleasing some people.

If you don't win Sam it won't be Paddy Tallys fault.

I won't be happy unless we get to a semi final. Would like another Ulster final appearance as well.

We definitely are a top 6 team so a qf and staying up is expected.

Tally was on the squad in 95 so his hatred of Derry would be real. Few pounds soon sort that out! You boys get that 2nd All Ireland soon - someone from Tyrone bound to get it for youse.

How they add extra players to the panel when they seen little of the championship. Are they relying on Enda Muldoon to highlight new players?
