£31 million from Stormont.
.

Yep but they recently released the other 30 odd million to the IFA a few weeks back

Are you sure? Are you confusing the NI Football Fund with the Regional Stadia programme?

Is that not just the new name for it?

I always was suspicious of how we were told (or at least people believed) that the funding to the GAA could only be used on one stadium project yet the IFA appeared able to do whatever they liked with theirs.

Nah it's completely separate. The NI Football Fund is for elite clubs I think only. They also have a fund for grassroots clubs and then they plan to build a centre of excellence for NI Football team as I think they currently train in Manchester. IFA won't see any of the money though they will be the benefactor.

Though it's just for football now it should extend to GAA and Rugby. It won't but as there's no money. It'll end up being a complete mess as well in my opinion.

It's stupid putting all this money into failing clubs. It won't help attendances.

Stormont reopened for business recently
Did Stormont being mothballed delay this decision on Casement or would it have happened anyway ?

You're confusing the sub regional stadia fund with the regional stadia fund.

lol. Fcuk me....

So, they got about £30m for Windsor (Regional Stadia fund) and about £30m for the Sub Regional Stadia fund (now known as something else).

The GAA got the same money but all for Casement.

That's correct?

I'm arguing that the IFA aren't getting the money. It's through the Department for Communities. They are issuing the money to the clubs. The IFA won't receive it.

Apart from that I do agree it's ridiculous that it's solely for soccer clubs and fucks GAA clubs over and if possible would like SF to halt the programme until the Minister approves money for both GAA and Rugby.

Tony Baloney

Lads the IFA are not the reason Casement is in the shape it is.

But "soccer" is receiving roughly the same funding as the Casement project??

Correct. We all got our slice of the pie. That they managed to do something meaningful with theirs is none of our business.
