Truth hurts

The best game of the championship thus far was the one involving Clonduff and Glenn. Up until the red card, Clonduff was winning handily. After that, they started to stand off Glenn, and Glenn picked them off. Glenn plays a beautiful type of football, and they will be a handful or anyone in the quarters with the returning players.

Turned into a real good game yesterday, plenty of mistakes and missed chances but intensity of championship makes up for it all. Glenn missing 3 key players with a fine second half display. Clonduff will find that one hard to deal with over the dark months. Glenn play an exciting brand of football which is a bit different to the norm, great to see.

Our lads decided to play a bit of hurling yesterday and ended up with a good win against Portaferry.
Both teams were under strength, Daithi Sands didn't feature at all for them and Matt Conlon came on at half time.  Our two lads carrying a few knocks came on with 10 minutes to go as well as giving a few panelists a run out but neither team will be reading an awful lot into it.

Going into the last round in two weeks time 3rd and 4th spots are still up for grabs and all remaining teams in with a shout although it's hard to see Carryduff getting anything from their game against Portaferry.  They'll be wanting us to beat Bredagh and Ballycran to beat Liatroim and that would leave three teams on two points and score differences coming in to play.  .

What age is Carville? He is like a wrecking ball from the 1980's at the edge of the square.

Surely the committee of Clonduff need to have a look at themselves.

Year after year of paying big £££ for mercenary managers, to end up flattering to deceive, every, single, year.

Is the next round an open draw? Or is it winners pot v losers pot?

2 different pots. The 4 teams that were already through to quarters in one pot against the winners of the weekends games in the other pot

Can teams who have played each other, face each other in the 1/4s? ie Loughinisland/Kilcoo (provided we win tonight)

Unless a motion was carried at convention 2023, then yes Loughinisland and Kilcoo can meet again in the QFs

When's next round of down football championships?

Blackandblue2

1/4 Finals time. Does anyone see any upsets happening? I think Burren, Kilcoo and Carryduff progress and the last game between Glenn vs Bryansford could go either way. Maybe Bryansford shade it with division 2 experience this year?

Semi Finals next weekend? or is there a break?

Truth hurts

Glenn and Bredagh showed us that anything can happen in championship football.
