BHD parking rip off warning

Parking is expensive at Belfast City Airport.  Last week I  had to pick up a friend from there.  I arrived at 7.20am and the fee for two hours was £6.50.  His flight arrived at 8.20am and I met him 10 mins later.  I paid the fee and as we were leaving the terminal we met a friend and stood talking for 10 mins.  At the barrier the machine asked me for another £2.  I pressed the intercom and was told I had to pay it as I had taken more than 10 mins to get to the car.  A rip off!

Looks like something dropped on it from a height given the chips out of it.

Called them as soon as it happened and they said to send an email for them to review footage.

They responded after 2 days saying their cameras didnt pick up anything so they cant help as they are not liable if third parties do damage.

But (really nice of them) they will be happy to support any claim I need to make against my insurance.

Am I goosed here or do I have any rights?

Not sure if that holds up in court though.

I'd just get it repaired, it's £100 a panel for a respray and the way insurance is nowadays it's probably not even worth claiming off them.

Rights for what? You'll be claiming off your own insurance unless you can prove that the building or car park operator's employees etc... responsibility. Also stuff falling from height doesn't leave scratches, it would leave dents, so I'd say more likely another person parked there?

I had a woman set her shopping bags of the bonnet of my car while loading her boot in a multi story. She reversed too far back into the space and thought the path of least resistance was set bags on bonnet (and obviously dragged across too) rather than pull her car forward. Obviously damaged the car paintwork and was witnesses/CCTV so I claimed off her but without that I was goosed.

She learned a very hard lesson and say her premiums jumped up massively (as the damage was well into 5 figures by time bonnet was fixed and resprayed/paint blended etc....) Some people just don't give a fcuk.

Why would you arrive an hour early when you have up to the second flight arrival info?

For Cork or Shannon Airport for picking someone up, I keep track of the flight online. I leave on time to coincide with it's arrival, then in the airport I wait in a slipway with the other cute hoors, 5-10 minutes after the 'Baggage delivered' notice goes up, I drive right up outside the arrivals section, collect the passenger and on my way with no parking fee😎

That be a 6 figure job 

Carbon, custom paint which had to be mixed etc... plus can only be done by the manufacturer.

Yes - I had thought that. However, if their cameras havent picked anything up how can they say it is a third party that is responsible for the damage?

The entire bonnet is damaged between scratches/dents/large paint chipping which makes me think it isnt a simple case of someone setting bags etc on the bonnet?
