Map of the North looks very Green.

Starmer is a p***k but maybe he'll mellow a bit now he's in. In fairness he was trying to appeal to c***ts that had voted Tory in the past.

I cannot understand Scottish nationalism.  How was there a big surge for SNP and the associated constitutional change, and now they've all changed their minds and gone back to Labour? Are they really nationalists?

The map looks green but the nationalist/unionist vote split is roughly the same.

Leaving the border poll decision at the whim of the British SoS with no definition of what 'likely' means wasn't a great outcome in the GFA negotiations.

Maybe it was the best they could do at the time.

Yeah there should  have been something more  definitive  . Eg. When  Nationalist parties  have the most  MLA's/MPs.

As it is,  the SOS will just keep saying no regardless  of demographics , and nationalist parties will just look like whinging children  continually asking their ma for  more pocket money

Some amount of yapping about SDLP not standing aside in ED.. If SF couldn't convince an extra 180 to vote for them then only themselves to blame.

They need to run a big canvass campaign in ED & Foyle if they want to get those two seats to get the votes they need time.

Also need to see their MPs doing something haven't seen Hazard doing anything in South Down bar leaving the kids off to nursery same time as I leave my own off

Exactly. It's incredibly arrogant to get angry when other parties don't stand aside for you. You want the votes, you earn them.

SDLP had a higher poll than SF last time out as well.

The entitlement of SF is off the chart.

in fairness I don't think anyone expected SF to get anywhere close in East Derry. I've no idea what the canvassing was like in Foyle and ED, if it wasn't great then definitely something to be looked at. Would expect both those seats to be in play in 5 years.

I do think the right thing to do would have been to step aside in FST given how tight it has been historically.

Joe Brolly for one but don't worry Matthew O'Toole put him back in his box

Ahh mouthpieces on Twitter yapping.. Don't know what canvassing was like in ED and Foyle either but just mean if they want to get those seats in 5 years time they'll need to put the groundwork in.

Brolly was one but others on the bandwagon too. By Joes logic Derry just shouldn't field in AI as they've no chance of winning it 🙄 balloon

Aw here. Is there anything Joe doesn't yap about lol.

In hindsight it is a pity they didn't step aside to get the seat off the DUP and get that p***k Campbell out but no one was calling for it pre election especially since SDLP were closer than SF the last time.

You'd imagine there'll be a big focus there the next time given both are definitely in play.

It's a nonsense debate really. It's no different than a DUPer saying 'Oh why didn't the UUP and TUV stand aside so Flegory isn't in such danger'.

If we go down the election pact road Unionism wins. For a while anyway.

Yeah true.
