Clacton one of the most economically deprived areas in the UK. Voted 70% for Brexit and now have Farage in. Deserve all they get

If it's because you've a prejudice against Protestant then yeah it is sectarian. I suspect you don't but I honestly can't see how narrowing the political spectrum into a binary choice could be viewed as a good thing by anyone.

If we did this across all the constituencies in NI we'd have only 2 candidates in a election. Unionist and non unionist. How is that democracy?

Nobody advocating for pacts is suggesting only nationalists and unionists should run, as far as I can see.

Even if the Alliance candidate is a Protestant? I've no idea of the religion of any of the Alliance candidates to be honest. I don't give a shite about the religion of the DUP'ers either and if a pro Irish Unity candidate ran who happened to be a Protestant I'd back them.

How is a party getting 63% of the seats with 36% of the vote democracy?

Was there a pact or the SDLP standing aside in East Derry mentioned 6 weeks ago or is it a case of everyone being Captain Hindsight now that the count was close?

Quite an exaggeration there. Whatever the flaws of British democracy there's a ocean of difference between it and North Korea.

That's a leap!

Tony Baloney

Whilst it's a leap to compare it to N. Korea this election has shown what a shambles FPTP is. Reform received about 4 million votes for a return of 5 seats whilst the Lib Dems had 3.5 million with 71 MPs sitting. That's a disgrace (and I'm no fan of Farage!).

Used to be similar under UKIP. It's the same story, last time Labour weren't that far behind in the vote compared to the seats won.

SNP was a joke for it at their best
