tiempo

A total soap opera, compelling to watch just because its so shite
It would have been hilarious had they gone out
But alas their stay of execution only provides a follow-on opportunity to laugh very hard
If they played decent football and were a genuine contender I wouldn't give a shite
Its the poetic brilliance of it all, full blown English exceptionalism mixed in equal parts with delusion and a verbal diarrhoea tour de force

G Nev, a man caught like a rabbit in the headlights at Valencia, who was part of Roy Hodgsons ticket 8 years ago that got pumped by Iceland, finally ran out of shite to say last night and had to pluck a line from the Rio Ferdinand book of quotes 'Trent not playing on this team is illegal' whatever the f**k that means, but they just keep saying it!

England are the Mayo of international football, only Harry Kane in a pair of budgie smugglers in a glossy magazine on the eve of the final would surpass the twilight zone they have found themselves in yet again

He should make the team watch it and critique it.

that says what he means and
means what he says...

Nah, Mayo have a modest infrastructure. A small population for a large county. And a huge level of immigration. If we don't  get excited by our county doing well, well what's the point of all this football stuff?
Football should always be about the build up. Enjoying the moment.

Ask what the value of Rodri is to both Spain and City, England may rant and rave about Rice, but he's a poor man's Rodri.

Foden and Stones are half the players without Rodri, Walker is even less than that as his brain is in his díck.

If TAA was caught out as badly as Walker positionally in that first half social media would have had a complete meltdown.

Would agree Rodri is immense and well ahead of Rice.

Is Rice an upgrade on Henderson or even Phillips? Very very ordinary in an England shirt

imtommygunn

He's much better than Phillips but he's not even lose to Rodri. Rice instrumental in a very good arsenal team. Philips was a disaster at west ham. Henderson not fantastic but achieved plenty too.

The reckoning from what I have read is that Bellingham is the problem and just never holds position and that leaves the rest of them in a bad position and also Rice playing a very different role to the one he does at Arsenal and one that maybe doesn't suit him so much.

Walker is quick at recovering when caught out of position but offers absolutely nothing else. Man can't even run with the ball.

France like Portugal 2016. Awful to watch, but will be hard beaten.

The Euros is like the senior football championship - in general not too exciting.

An Watcher

I agree.  Another turgid match.  I find  sport is becoming more and more of a turn off because of the lack of physical contact and the constant diving

The anticipation of four quarters in the Gaa and soccer has been in no way matched by the quality or excitement on show. Turgid by and large

Some of the second tier teams have been the most exciting to watch. Apart from England obviously 😏

Capt Pat

France v Belgium was a borefest. Hopefully Portugal v Slovenia will have a few decent goals.

Mourne Red

Another dull game.. And as a Nordie it's not helped by having Martin Keown on commentary
