Loughinisland moved their game versus Clonduff last month and are playing Castlewellan this week on Thursday night rather than Friday, both rescheduled due to weddings in Clonduff and Castlewellan.

Apparently request to move the game was made several months ago. The GAA should be better than what went on last Friday.

It doesn't reflect well on Bredagh anyway. The reason we all started playing football as kids very much disappears as players get to adult level. Gone is the hobby and enjoyment side of things, looking forward to battling it out on the pitch and maybe grabbing a pint afterwards, replaced by an all consuming beast that requires players to give up huge amounts of their time, energy and life in the hope that it brings their club some sort of return on the ridiculous costs of a management team hired by a club committee. What is it all about really?

The Bredagh committee ought to have insisted on changing the game, particularly because the massacre's 30th anniversary fell on the same week.

This is what happens when clubs pay big money to managers. Managers do not want to lose a paid gig. So any opportunity for a win will be taken. ( I'm just assuming Bredagh are paying an outside manager).

Mental comment.

Haven't seen it Truth.. What's the format?

32 teams in round 1. Div 1/2 teams in one bowl Div 3/4 teams in the other. Winners go to A championship, losers go to B.

Championships are 4 groups of four. No seeding so technically the top 4 teams in Div 1 could be in same group.
Top 2 in each group go through to quarter finals.

The round 1 game is scheduled for Tue Aug 6th with the 4 league finals happening on the 3rd/4th giving the league finalists as little as 2 days to prepare for a game that decides what championship they are in, right in the middle of holiday season.

There will be some upsets I would say.

I was unaware that the group was not seeded. That is more insane than what I initially heard.

I'd imagine there'll be a lot of division 3 and 4 teams not fielding in the first round when they get drawn against division 1 teams

This all sounds a bit strange; an unusual formula that once again prove that there's no perfect format.
