I hate to say this but Tyrone are just not getting to grips with this black card rule and if they don't do something then it will be a short season. Teams are walking through our defence far to easily.

Lazy analysis, black card means that you replace a player, you still play with 15, and infact as the league has progressed players aren't getting a black unless it is very very obvious that it was cynical. Yesterday Duffy could have sent off  Dublin player Mc Menanmin for what was obviously a cynical foul, but opted not. Their was another tackle afterwards that was dangerous and he gave a yellow, which was correct. In other words what is happening in our defence had nothing to do with it, its because we are not player a sweeper or dropping a pilé of players behind the ball all the time. If we had of played lkie that last year the same problems would have been exposed.

thats lazier analysis in fairness. Tyrone are struggling, as are a lot of teams. Tyrone have been the past masters of the mean defence, a swarm defence. This is yesterdays tactics. It will take a while for a lot of teams to come to grips with this. Its a game now for fast, mobile defenders. Whilst Joe, Justy and Gormley are top notch players, its a different era of football. You are right though on yesterdays performance by Cirque du Sligeach, Duffy could have black carded a few yesterday, as most refs could in all matches so far and dont. But, and very importantly, players do not want to risk getting roaded. Having it in a ref's amory is a very strong deterrent. Come championship time, while a strong panel is vital, you tend to start with your strongest 15 for that particular game. The replacements coming on may not be as strong or suited to mark a particular dangerman on the oppostions team. So, it will be 15 v 15, but not as strong a 15.

Yeah usual crap from Gormley, grabbing the shirt and shoving his forearm into the players face. Funny enough it was a young Dublin lad and not MDMA!

Sometimes a young team need someone to come on and not be pushed around.

Couple of points yet to be mentioned:

Coney was hard done by being hauled ashore, didn't get much ball at all. McAliskey, IMO, was lucky to last as long as he did.

Penrose has done well this past two games. I think him and Mark Donnelly for 10/12.

Horse manure. I don't think it's Gormley you need look to for indiscipline yesterday. Dublin committed exactly three times the number of fouls as Tyrone (27 to 9), with dublin getting 8 yellows to Tyrone's 3. As for Conor Gormley, even at this stage in his career, he was one of our outstanding men last year and Tyrone will go no where this year without him.

Was over in Liverpool yesterday with my kids so didn't see the match yet. Have it recorded so hope to watch it tonight.
By reading the last 5 or 6 pages it sounds like there was quite a bit of controversy as usual.
Sounds like both teams really wanted to win but Tyrone's very open defense cost them again.

Where were all ye Dubs before the game. Not a squeak out of ye and then ye come on after ye win. Were ye worried to show yer faces in case you lost?

I feared Connolly would run amok as we've nobody to mark him and sounds like he had another good game. I'll see tonight.

Every year I laugh at the Armagh & Derry lads calling for Gormley and Ricey's head and now it's the McMahons as well. They'd be glad to see the end of those boys I'd say. Dublin have their fair share of Gormley style players now but of course St Gavin would never admit to playing the game like that.
In my eyes if we don't have Gormley, Joey and at least one decent tough nut corner back we're going nowhere this summer unless we revert back to 8 man defence.
Can't believe I'm saying this but would that be so bad???
