Agree re McCurry's free taking technique. The second half free kicks required a low 'punch' type shot instead of a high floaty effort. Again,  we live to regret the slow start leaving our centre defensive channel wide open and silly misses when we are going through a decent spell of offensive pressure.

Completely agree O'Neill, I am sure you're specifically referring to the Dublin high challenges that resulted in yellows?

Overall, I am quite worried that it would be nearly impossible to name 50% of our starting defence for the championship at this stage of the year. Would have been useful to get another run out or two before the Down game.

We have no defence.

The reason Tyrone made ground on Dublin in the second half was because we owned the ball from midfield for a long period. Even McCurry was foraging for the kick outs. If Tyrone have the ball, then our weaknesses are not going to be exposed.

Morgan must be the most worked Tyrone keeper in our history although FoSB could compare Thaddy Turbett's performances.

Overall though, great guts shown during this league. Derry, Kildare and Cork were arguably better on the day and Mickey got results (maybe even Mayo?). Almost today.

Tyrone could just as easily been flirting with relegation this year. Donegal & Monaghan in the Div 1 mix next year.

I saw Mayo getting a penalty against Derry, still unsure as to why the ref would give a yellow instead of a black.  Not sure if McAtamney got either.

As for the last play, Cavanagh was trying to be the hero when all he had to do was put the ball diagonal to the right corner forward direction where there was a free Tyrone man in acres of space.

I know its been said 1000 times but its time to get Cavangh into the edge of the square, if he aint going to track from midfield and help his defense then he is a hinderance round the middle, he was awesome last year going forward but that masks a lot, his brother is having too do the work of 2 men and the defence is getting torn to shreds, plus his greed is astounding. Great performance from Mattie Donnelly.

Of the 4 semi-final qualifiers, only one of them beat us, and that game plus the 2 draws could have gone either way - hardly hopeless (and it is 'only' the League), though there are defensive deficiencies that need to be addressed between now and the Ulster prelim against Down.

Paul Flynn is class act.

Dublin missing 6/7 yesterday. It's theirs to lose ( under 21s, league and Sam Maguire ) and there's no point even wasting time talking about Leinster.

Forgot about Flynn. He is probably the best half forward in Ireland over this past 3-4 years, some engine and a pure tank to go with it.
