It does strike me more a problem of dysfunctional government in the basket case state. Lough Neagh a worse example.

Not necessarily blaming DUP but in general, even when they can agree the pace of things is glacial.

Was there not an issue that the Lough bed belongs to some Lord and nothing could be done without his consent.

Have to say I really enjoyed the game last night. Enjoyed the bit of niggle, thought it gave a nice edge to the game. The only games I've watched have been the ones involving France. Have been good to watch and would like to see them win it. I didn't think there were any particularly dangerous tackles in the game. A bit like watching Atletico Madrid and I enjoy them as well.

I see this thread started back in 2010, that's hard to believe. Ulster GAA have been working on this project that long and spent millions to date. The money was there and they couldn't even get planning sorted. I don't really see where politics plays any part in the mismanagement of the project. The other two sporting codes have their stadiums long finished.

I realise I'm foolish going up against a solicitor but I'll give it a go. 😂. I can't see any result in the current All Ireland series where Dublin beat Louth by ten points. It may happen in the final but my crystal balls a bit cloudy.

Not sure who the solicitor is but in case you are referring to me (I am not a solicitor) I think the answer to the question whether they are completely separate competitions is answered by 6.12 of the official guide:

The Championships shall be organised as follows: INTER-COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS
(A) All-Ireland Senior Football Championship:
(i) Provincial Championships These Championships shall be played on a Knockout Format. Group or 'RoundRobin' Formats may not be used.
(ii) Tier 1 (Sam Maguire Cup) 

So the Provincial Championship and Sam Maguire Cup as they call it make up the All Ireland Senior Football Championship.

So on a technical level Dublin have beaten Louth in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship this year but not in the Sam Maguire Cup as the rules call it

Apologies David, that was an assumption on my part. I had asked a legal question on the Dup thread directly to yourself. You had answered it and quite a few others. The tone of the other posts had led me to believe you were a solicitor. I will rephrase the original controversial post. Poor old referees always to blame. Galway six points up and cruising, lazy tackling makes the decision penalty decision for the referee. Galway penalty shout, ref gives foul on Walsh so free shot for two pointer which he misses. Called back and the free is missed as well.

Apart from when it comes to qualifying for the competition and who you can draw in it

NFL qualifies 7 teams, TC qualifies 1, Provincials qualify 8 ( with a perk)
All separate competitions.

Leinster Championship was that not. ?

Dublin our best chance of Kerry being beaten.

Although that could mean Mayo have a chance in a final.

And Mayo winning an All Ireland would be disastrous for the game.

Would be great to see Louth do the unthinkable.

Exactly how much damage could Mayo do winning every 75 years?

Louth are indeed formidable against teams whose goalie is injured.

It's hard enough listening to their fans when their not winning. Imagine what it be like if they won one.

My preference for All ireland winners at this point would be.

1. Louth
2. Dublin
3. Kerry
4. Mayo

Kerry and Dublin have won more than enough. I think every neutral would back Louth. I don't see much to dislike in Mayo people personally.
