Moortown v Fianna
Killyclogher v Dungannon
Clonoe v Loughmacrory
Errigal v Dromore
Ardboe v Edendork
Galbally v Trillick
Omagh v Donaghmore

Omagh down this weekend and Moortown to make a giant step towards safety. Dromore going quietly under the radar.

Early Championship Prediction - Carrickmore

Division 2
Naomh Eoghanv Aghyaran
Derrylaughlan v Greencastle DRAW
Rock v Moy
Clogher v Kildress
Beragh v Drumquin
Killeeshil v Aghaloo
Pomeroy v Gortin
Owen Roes v Cookstown

NE to be Champions as Cookstown beat Owen Roes. Rock to produce result of the week against the Moy. Killeeshil to pull further up the table. All to play for survivial wise in 2.

Early Championship Prediction - Pomeroy

Congrats to Fintona who return to D2 at the first time of asking. I'm going to be bold and predict a date in Croke Park further down the line. That would leave Glenelly promoted in 2nd who also had a great season.

Early Championship Prediction - Fintona

Congrats to Tattyreagh who are up to D3A
There'll be no croker lol. Fintona to pull a Gortin from 2024... go on the beer for a few days and be gone first clip from the championship. Urney not a bad side.
You must be on the beer - I fancy NE to go on the beer and be nipped by Gortin this year, provided they win the league

Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on August 05, 2026, 09:34:58 AMCongratulations to Fintona Pearses on their swift return to Intermediate Football after winning the Junior League title.

Intermediate just became a lot more competitive in 2027 with Fintona coming back up. You see where Cookstown are at this year and Fintona will likely operate at a similar level next year.
Add in two coming down from Senior be it Omagh, Coalisland, Moortown or whoever and you have a real minefield in Intermediate next year.
Agreed intermediate will be more competitive next year probably with alot more twists and turns, however i cant see Fintona operating at a similar level to Cookstown who look like a top 3 finish. Not in that first year back up anyway...

3. kildress/lough

Or, who has the worst club facilities? Particularly in the higher divisions.
Some clubs have the same changing rooms with no upgrades this past 30 years falling behind some clubs who are making massive strides
Clogher have the worst

On this thread all the time is talk of relegation.

A very negative mindset. Top of league/winners never hardly mentioned.

Strange.

It is more value to talk about the likes of derrylaughan, kildress, rock, fianna, Dungannon and omagh possibly going down than newton or Eglish winning the league.

The old saying goes nobody cares or remembers the league winners in Tyrone, only the championship

Fianna up and down, omagh have been looking at the trap door for few years. Kildress are ladies club, makes sense.

League doesn't matter in 1, more of a nuisance if you're going deep in Championship.  Relegation talk in D1 is due to a longtime senior team heading for the trap door as the typical yoyo teams seem to have survived it this year.

League is massive D2 and D3 as another method of promotion to a higher level anyone who says different is wrong. D2 is the best value to watch, teams can get very easily pulled into relegation playoffs after a double weekend. Although removal of the promotion playoffs can leave a lot of dead rubbers at the upper end towards Round 14/15 as only the Championship and League winners are promoted, personally would have kept the promotion playoff format from last year, 2 teams was the sweet spot, 4 was too much.
:-X

Divsion 2 and 3 are good for getting up but what use is that. On these off years where it looks like newton are going up, it is absolutely no use to them. They have zero good minor teams in the last decade, all well and good going up to senior but if you are going to get hammered in every game your not learning anything.

So should teams just throw in the towel to avoid going up and experiencing senior football on the chance they might get hammered?

May aswell do in newtons case. Different if you're going up and capable of competing. E.g moortown.
What a thing to come out with
How can you consider NE not being capable of competing at a higher level, when they are 10/10.

Even if teams go up to come straight back down there is still positives of going up to D1, (I.E) a largely increased gate when the bigger teams come to town and a bit of buzz around your club having senior status.

Promotion of any sort not to be sniffed at

Quote from: Winthebreak on July 20, 2026, 11:33:47 AMSome clubs have hit poor for at wrong time, can't seem to turn the tide. Thinking of Dungannon/Omagh/C'island in Div 1, Rock & Derrylaughan in Div 2, Glenelly in Div 3. Any clubs going to change management or coaching to save their seasons?
Thats just football i suppose, very hard to maintain top form all the way through a league campaign, unless your Naomh Eoghan apparently.

I think this has been a long time coming for Omagh and I dont think they would get out of D2 anytime soon if they do drop.
I remember seeing a post on here a while back questioning Dungannons ability to retain their D1 status, if they drop I think they would bounce straight back up with a lot of silverware, Ulster or an AI.
As for Coalisland you never really know what way theyll go year to year.

Id say Derrylaughan and The Rock will be surprised at their situations but D2 relegation is almost nailed on Aghaloo, Kildress and Killeeshil?

Glenelly always seem to make a push but they are the nearly men of D3.

Surely not, what reason would he have to transfer there?

No disrespect to Brackaville but if he were moving to the area, a player of his quality would surely be looking to join Na Fianna. If he was seeking to leave Irvinestown over something, surely he would be looking somewhere closer in the west, Dromore, Trillick or Clogher. Not one of the furthest away, lowest graded teams he could get.

Or alternatively people could just ignore posters who register on the board to make crap up? I mean if you believe this nonsense then I've a bridge to sell you. . .
I'm not sure if you noticed on my response, but I was questioning, leaning towards disagreement. Not wholeheartedly in agreement and belief. General bar stool talk is correct.

On a side note, what size is this bridge?

I would like to see Beragh pip them as it would really put teams from 3rd-8th back in the race. However i think NE are riding the crest of a wave and i dont think Beragh is considered a hard place to go, in my opinion anyway. NE to make it 5/5

Dromore vs Galbally
Trillick vs Eglish
Coalisland vs Donaghmore
Edendork vs Killyclogher
Omagh vs Ardboe

D'laughan vs Aghyaran - If Aghyaran lose this they may pack the bags
Kildress vs Kileeshil- Kildress should clinch these crucial 2 points
Clogher vs Pomeroy - Pomeroy need this to keep a realistic shot of a league title alive
Greencastle vs Beragh - The castle will quit the football, start the boxing and see it through
Owen Roes vs Moy - Owen Roes train keeps rolling with conroy on the sideline
Aghaloo vs Drumquin - Aghaloo to be relegated, unfortunate they cant seem to stick the landning in D2
Naomh Eoghan vs Gortin - Cant call it, big game for both parties
Cookstown vs Rock - City slickers walk this i think.

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

I've seen posts blaming the county board and posts blaming the clubs. Like most people, I don't know who's to blame at this stage, I just know who's suffering most from it — the ordinary club player, id say roughly 95% of all players.
Most clubs started pre-season around say December. By the time leagues eventually start on June 5th, that's basically a 6-month pre-season for a huge majority of lads who aren't county players and never were or will be. Yet still training 2/3 nights a week, gym work, challenge games, while not even knowing when the season is properly starting.
It's not just football either. People can't book holidays, weekends away, work trips or organise family stuff because everything is unknown.
I understand clubs wanting their U20s available, especially the likes of Loughmacrory, Cookstown, Fintona, because they'll play huge roles for them this year. Fair enough. But realistically they are the minority. Plenty of clubs have very few or no county U20s.
Then when it finally starts, everything gets crammed into a short window leading to fatigue, injuries and fixture overload. Every player will be burnt out, county or not.
The worst part is it nearly puts ordinary club players in a position where they don't want the U20s to keep winning because every extra week delays their own season and holds up the rest of their life too. I'm not intending to hammer the U20s or the county team, but at the end of the day, club players are people too, with lives and other commitments. Year on year being left hanging as to when they can finally commence the league that they too train and work very hard for.
