Quote from: marty34 on October 19, 2026, 09:13:03 PMConor Meyler in helping Wexford in '27.

Parkinson isn't enamoured of the decision. The p***k.

Why is Parkinson a p***k but in this example Meyler isn't?

Meyler was a great player lets get that out of the way.

He is a 32 Year old student.

Without Tyrone GAA (and his own hard work which cannot be diminished) he wouldnt be in many of the positions or conversations he is currently in.

A coach with Wexford for F*** knows how much a night.. on what basis is he remotely qualified for this position.

I'm sure there are a list of people within the Wexford GAA community who bring much more than a Tyrone man who hasn't coached.

Never mind the details of his equality for equalitys' sake view on the associations joining. He is a very well educated dose who knows what to say to keep himself relevant in terms of clicks etc. online particularly in the spheres where people are talking about the discourse around this so called merger.

I wish him & Wexford the very best with the upcoming season but when he talked about "white middle class" privilege which exists within the association add on the "ex county" moniker and he himself is availing of this privilege exactly. In all probability there are much better candidates who stand to gain far less but give themselves more passionately to the role.
How in anyway does Meyler taking the opportunities presented to him make him a p***k?

Not sure what i was on about last night, reading too many stats. McEvoy and CD best midfielders in the county. Barry Cassidy tried his best to inject life into Glen

Derry have a fairly good production now, I didn't get up to any of the games today. I think Glen have undoubtedly the best attack of the last 3, they dismantled teams that other contenders struggled to put away. Think they could lift another JML

Trying my best to read around this section 9, seems to very powerful and that the PC will effectively never rule on Drumcree again if it's not completely dead in the water anyway?

Cassidys two pointer looked over, bellaghy done a great job blocking out for kickouts but what the hell where they doing in the last phase of play before HT. Sean Youngs goal with the weaker foot is as composed a finish as you'll get.

Don't know why the bellaghy manager wanted a go at Padraig McGrogan but it was good entertainment even his chances wouldn't be very good

Unless you're picking a ridiculously small pool of players he absolutely is

Ref had enough cards handed out I'd say there wasn't room in the note book for the score

McWilliams should be brought up in November for training in any case. Big skilled players aren't that abundant in Derry, reps against good opposition is what he needs. Might never play a role for Derry but it's worth a go.

Shame that D McDermott is out, he would was going very well in league, defending and breaking out at speed. Conleth McGrogan is another all rounder reminds me a lot of CD but he wouldn't commit last year so that's a no go. Clucky has set my standards for a corner back abit too high, as good as it gets imo

Thought Steelstown would give that a better cut tbh, fairly brutal shooting. Magherafelt didn't look too hot for awhile but came on well. Aidan McCluskey was a busy man

Quote from: Ryan O on September 05, 2026, 09:22:57 PMYes big step up in quality between the games. I think Lavey have the quality to play a far higher tempo game. That half back line is as good as anyone in the county.

Ciaran Henry is a top player, I thought Matthew had poor evening as I said but he is a good player. Midfield big and very mobile.

Conor Mc Ateer was superb I thought, he's a massive leader always looking to create something, almost impossible to man mark with his movement.
The speed and aggression Newbridge break out of defense is the template for alot if teams, yes they have some top players but its the work rate. I reckon Conor Doherty sprinted the full length of that pitch close to 8/10 times tonight.
Yep, Cahair O'Kane went on a abit of downer in his latest article there about all these Derry clubs running the ball and not kicking. I don't see why a team like Newbridge wouldn't run it, very athletic and well co-ordinated moving forward
