Quote from: superstar_ on August 03, 2026, 10:07:52 AMI was in Kildress as a neutral. Naomh Eoghan the better team and missed a crazy amount of chances. Only thing Kildress can feel hard done by over was the second half penalty which was definetly touched on the ground by NE number 4. Naomh Eoghan should also have had a penalty in the first half for the black card, the new rule on cynical foul preventing a goal scoring chance leading to a penalty should have been used here. The red card was deserved, Kildress clearly went out to target Ryan Mayse and the full back correctly walked for his punches.

Would like to let this fixture lie but I can't let this crap be the last post on it. NE did miss chance but Kildress missed as many if not more - Our dead balls where unusally bad (we where missing Shea Tracey) and we had a number of goal chances.

I'll take your point on the red if thats how you see it but Mayse started the scrap - hes no saint. Maybe he got a shoulder or push as any defender might do against a op forward at the beginning of a contest.

As for giving a penalty for the dubious black card which occured about 25m from goal and other defenders in the area - that is raking the absolute piss!

As a 'neutral' what is your opinion on a ref from Drumquin being appointed this game considering its in his interest to prevent Kildress from winning the game to keep them well below Drumquin?
The Kildress full back threw punches, how is that red card even up for discussion?
The NE penalty. NE 24's next action was a shot directly on the keeper, the player who pulled him down was the last defender back, under the new rule it is a black card and penalty.
It is the county boards fault for putting a Drumquin referee in that position but he denied both teams a penalty, got the red card correct and the rest was his usual picky stuff that was even to both teams.

What club are you?

This is crazy stuff. I didn't say we didn't deserve a red I just think if two boys are fighting. It's 2 reds.

He was 25 metres from goals with other Kildress defenders between him and the goal. How can u say that his next thing is it to shoot on goal? By the logic every black card anywhere on the pitch is a penalty???

Again I have no issue with NE they scraped a result against us fair play and good luck but you avoided the question.

I wouldn't expect a Kildress ref to appointed to Rock v Greencastle tonight.

Kildress kicked themselves out of it but done well to have opportunities even with 14/13 men the whole game. Sean devenney was a significant contributing factor to the result.
NE 24 was on the 20 heading for the 13. If the defender doesn't pull him down he is in on goal. The new rule in that case is a penalty. I don't like it but by the rules it is a penalty.
One player threw punches, the other didn't. Correct call by Devenney.
2 penalties not given, one for Kildress one against, is the only grievance you can have with Devenney.

The black card happened outside the 20. The 24 didn't even get fully turned never mind have a chance to shoot. Some laugh this is. Genuinely might not be anything worse in our game than old farts that don't have a clue.
That is the new rule. If he gave the black, he should also be giving the penalty. If he isn't taken down he has a clear goal chance.

The so called 'development squad' played their Derry counterparts on Saturday morning in Moortown.

Heard the Tyrone team was full of senior squad players and very few development players in comparison to the Derry line up.

Is there anyone on it that hasn't been involved in the senior set up this year? Any idea who playing
Ben McDonnell was on it. Think the rest were mainly U20 players from last year's team that are now overage. Potter, Owens, Devlin.
Liam Nugent, Dalaigh Jones, Oisin McCann and Shea Coney were involved.

thought he was all primed for a return to the team on the basis of his club form?
With the exception of 2023 has his club form ever warranted a place on the county team? Was 2024 good enough to earn a recall? Has his performances for Tyrone ever been good enough to back up people calling for his selection in the team? Has he ever put together an injury free season for Tyrone?
Tyrone are better of looking elsewhere, Joe Oguz and Cathal Donaghy are both better options around midfield/wing forward.

Clonoe to beat Errigal... You haven't a clue. How many Clonoe players would make the Errigal starting 15. McClure doesn't get in over McDonnell or Oguz, their defence is the worst in Tyrone. Not even sure Mcaliskey would make their forward line? Madden should focus on his team rather than articles in the Irish News.

Also would rather have Dwayne Quinn over Niall Kelly.
