Last year in Clones was probably my worst experience following Down, and I've seen both Wicklow and Sligo putting us out in the backdoor.

The weather, the hammering the lack of facilities in Clones, its a ground no longer fit for purpose, anyone saying otherwise is wearing rose tinted glasses and thinking of the good oul days.

A few weeks later I was in Thurles for the Tailtain cup, Tipp v Limerick in the hurling was on after as part of a double header. The contrast in atmosphere, facilities, organisation etc was stark.

Having said that il more than likely be in Clones on Saturday week.

I'd prefer Clones to Casement but you're not wrong has been totally let go to wreck and ruin. Must have been the plan along to get the games out of there. Some great memories of it and about the town before and after games.

I remember going to these games in the 90's and it was a full house, we not ever half full the day. Plus attendances in general well down.Gotta be due to a early championship start.

Was competitive then.. Dublin, Meath, Kildare.. plus every match seems to be televised now. Agree with you on early start though, went ott on that.

Brollys podcast is decent but he cuts across Fanning far too much and doesn't let him speak dunno how Fanning doesn't lose the plot with him.

Wouldn't be a fan of the remarks Brolly made about Harte or Conor Glass on the podcast either.

Havent listened to it this long time. Whatever about having a cut at Harte I'm sure a lot of Derry men have grievances over that, but I'm not sure how any gaa man nevermind Derry man could have a bad word to say about Glass. Class act on the field and comes across as a gent off it.

What do you agree with him about re Harte?

That there are enough good Derry men with that tradition without lining Hartes pockets... a cartel of managers doing the rounds... sure you know what he said.

Bottom line is Brolly doesn't like Harte, so with his platform, as he does with anyone he doesn't like, he let's the world know continuously. Calling a 70 something GAA coach a cnut or whatever isn't the behaviour of a mature adult. Don't buy the bullshit it's because he's an outside manager, Brolly was, by his own admission instrumental in bringing Mullans in in the 90s, the mans a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction.
