Carmen stateside, he appeared a couple of years ago. He is a workhorse who adds alot to the team and actually is highly regarded in Dromore. And that McMenamin man spent the whole game twisting with people in the crowd.

On a footballing note, Mickey Harte could do worse than take a look at Eoin McCusker and Mark Donnelly. Donnelly scored 1-5 from play off Cathal McCarron yesterday. A Dromore man told me after the game that he never saw McCarron getting a roasting like it before. McCusker is a strong fella who is trying to carry a poor enough Dromore forward unit without a fit Conor O'Neil, Snowy and McCullagh. I would say he is Dromores most important player.

2 excellent players. I think Mc Cusker was looked at 2 years ago I believe in the Mc Kenna Cup ???

Played with Sparkie in Australia - class act - could be in with a chance of a McKenna Cup spot for next year especially if Carmen do well in championship - was there no backlash from any Carmen players roddy after the incident happened?

Carrickmore were handed a devastating blow yesterday with the news that Kevin McNally will be out for the remainder of the year at least with multiple fractures in his leg due to a horrific and late tackle by a Dromore player. In the interest of Dromore club or in a strange way, the lunatic involved I really hope it was not premeditated. I guess no one can answer that that only the afore mentioned lunatic. This man will get a months suspension yet if he did it on the street he would get a prison sentence.

On a footballing note I really can not see Carmen winniong the O'Neill cup this year without him. I would think that he is in the top 2 or 3 highest scorers in the league and any team would stuggle without this.

Must have been a very bad tackle to break someones leg in gaelic  :o

not really a blonde moment as such - but me and one of the lads i live with was in a bar a few weeks ago sipping over a nice pint of arthurs finest - he thought he caught a girl catching his eye across the way and then she sorta waved/put up her hand so of course he salutes her back and then realises she is waving to one of her girl-friends standing over behind us - ground swallow up time -  :D

Not sure if this topic has been posted before - did a quick search and couldn't find one.

So after having this discussion with a few club mates at training the other night just wondered what most posters opinion is:

would you rather win an Senior all-ireland with your club (lets assume your club are good enough for the purpose of the question)

or

would you rather win a Senior all-ireland with your county (again lets assume you are good enough to play intercounty and your county are good enough to win and all-ireland)

For me and any of the lads i chatted to it was all-ireland with the club hands down - although the publicity/crowds, etc for intercounty would be much greater i don't think anything would compare to winning a senior all-ireland with your club mates, and i know if we ever did the rip afterwards would be as the gaa ad states.....unrivalled  :D

This leads on to a slightly different question - does anyone think that it would be a good idea to have club allstar awards or to have club players considered for an all-star (i.e. lets say for example a team from galway won the all-ireland club and there centre half back has been unreal in ever game, galway as a county are knocked out of the championship early and during the whole championship there have been no stand out centre half backs - would it not be an option to consider someone who has had an outstanding year for their club??

Enojyed the game yesterday and was good atmosphere - the craic was good on the Hill bar a few sc**mbag belfast ones who started signing about omagh (as in the omagh bomb) - was vile and totally out of place although as i say it was a small minority of scum who probably were never at a Antrim/GAA match in their lives before.

Some Tyrone boys behind us then started signing are you linfield in diguise which got them even more annoyed.

Another point was the traffic - thought it was brutal yesterday and took a good while getting in and out of the ground even with our knowledge of most of the backroads!

Now as for the game itself - thought it was a good enough spectacle - some great scroes from tyrone - in particular cavanaghs goal - people were saying o'neil wasnt great as he didnt score but he set up cav's goal and at least 3 other points in the first half - hes always a handful if not scoring hes winning ball and laying it off to teammates in better posistions which is great FF play in my book.  Thought antrim battled well without ever really threatening to win the game although if Cunnigham had have taken them 2 goal chances it could have lead to a very exciting finish.

I couldn't see too many boys sticking with Sean Cavanagh over any distance once he gets his legs going.

Sometimes he's like the oversized kid at under-12 level, except he's doing it at Championship level.

was chatting to a player the other day and was asking him whos the fastest in tyrone panel - he said penrose

I'm going to say it'll be a draw.  And i might even stick a sneaky tenner on it at that - anyone seen the prices?

I would have thought Mellon would have been a better option than Nial Gormley, Colin Holmes or Aidan Cassidy.

He would but we're a wash with Half forwards and that's where he likes to be..same with Mulgrew if Fear's rumour is indeed correct :-\

Harte just names the subs in Alphabetical order and everyone that is fit togs out anyway.  Not sure for certain if your not named in the 30 you cant be used though?

Think i'd definately go for one of the mcmahons in midfield to be honest - preferably Justin, as i think he has alot to offer on the ball further out the pitch, with Joe moving back! Does anyone know the progress of Aiden Cassidy, he seems to have been out for a long time now, Sunday would have been a good game to throw him into!

Cassidy kicked two points of collie holmes in first training game back the other night - should be togging out sunday anyway as Mickey always togs out all players who are fit.

Very impressed with Omagh's spirit yesterday. 4 down at half-time, they came back and blew Donaghmore off the pitch with a 15 minute blitzkrieg in the last quarter. Some magnificent scores taken. Young McKenna was plucking them out of the air for the visitors, but they seemed to tire badly towards the end. Errigal away next up for Omagh. Very tough.
Its east to fade when time and time again the referee dosent let the best team on the pitch pull away, admittedly Omaghs ezqualiszing goal was a catalogue of errors.  On a plus point Omaghs a strong side and are a decent enough dark horse this year,  I would have had many fears when I seen Justy Mc moving onto Niall Mc Kenna but what a performance by Niall, winning that hands down -  he must have taken 5 or 6 above him in the second half alone, a great battle.  I always thought he was a few years away but maybe he'll progress quicker.

Aw to think what aughers midfield could have been - Aidy Cass and Niall McKenna   :o
