'Employing'... ?

Not a chance... was holding back a team that won an All Ireland. Mickey did great work with Tyrone way back but that ship has long sailed.

Quote from: tiempo on May 28, 2024, 01:18:59 PMYes I'm involved at local level. And the GAA is an overwhelming force for good across Ireland, but Joe is disparaging of other sports as if they are less worthy or less valid in their endeavours and has a holier than ye view on the GAA as if there aren't real issues. Maybe the Prof could do a paper on the incidence of assault across codes or untaxed second incomes (paid managers), I'd suggest GAA doesn't fare favourably to the average golf soccer or rubgy club.

Some deflections there to drag down the contribution of the GAA to Irish society. The GAA at local level has done more to hold communities together than any other organisation, church included.. during good times and challenging times such as huge immigration, the war years and Covid... not sure has Joe ridiculed golf! I enjoy soccer and rugby as much as the next man but isn't comparable what they do on a wider community level and have their own assaults too I'm sure cud be dug out of the archives

Maybe you're not involved with GAA at a local level..
This GAA.

"It completely blew my mind," said Professor Shibli. "I thought to myself 'I've got to find out more about this."

What came back, he says now, was a "unique insight" into what he was dealing with that's "not your average golf, rugby or soccer club which is typically what I have dealt with. This, to me, is something quite different."

Western media going with 'Israel takes out 2 Hamas leaders' and 'used precision munitions' as their headline is beyond despicable.

Yeah, absolutely deplorable.

Anyone still sticking up for Israel at this point must be dead inside.
It's sponsored genocide. Netenyahu and his cohorts no better than Hitler's Nazis..

I agree but I never use that comparison. You're playing straight into their hands, allows Israeli supporters to divert the conversation straight away to 'anti-semetism'.
I know what you mean though Zionists cry 'anti-semitism' at any condemnation of their slaughter. What I'm saying is beyond awful what was done to Jews in World War II and now this being inflicted by Israel on Palestinians that they treat like a sub-species.

Quote from: Cyril Farrell fan on May 27, 2024, 08:40:33 AMA lot of Galway people were sickened yesterday to see one of our own put the final knife into Galway.
There is no way Shefflin will be allowed stay on.

The search for a new man starts again.

Revenge is a dish best served cold

Fair play to Micheal Donoghue after the treatment he got near the end of his tenure with Galway
When you're pleading to get a player from your own county that you once managed sent off, you definitely are on a revenge mission. Shameful.

Perhaps he successfully ensured that they are no longer rivals!
Bit like Harte in Derry!

Plus they'll be against the wind in 2nd half.

A red card for me. Reckless when ball was gone.
Thought red was severe... yellow for me
