The Guardian are tweeting that they have "Major - and boy do I mean it - football exclusive coming up on guardian.co.uk sometime around 5.30".

The forums have it that Fergie is announcing his retirement! I doubt that. In fact I bet it'll be something really s***e.

Anyone know somewhere locally where I can borrow/ hire a backdrop for a stage?

Something generic in design would do the job.

I thought it was only fair that this got a thread of its own. For consistancy purposes you understand.

How much longer can we put up with this type of individual in front line sport? This is the type of person that kids (Not mine mind you) are meant to look up to?

I mean it was only a year or two ago that he was found guilty of spitting on a photographer who was just out doing his work. It was several years ago, that we read the stories of him having dealings (More than once) with a lady of the night. However he was young then.

Now here he is again, with another allegation of an interaction with a prostitute. Then to discover that this happened while his poor wife was expecting. Well to be honest, I am sick to the pit of my stomach today, and it leaves me lost for words.

So I had to gather up a few quotes to cover my feelings, "English scum of the earth", "sc**bag", "lowlife dick". Football and the world is a poorer place this morning as far as I concerned....  :(

Twitter reporting a 'huge' car bomb on the Strand Road in Derry in the last 30 minutes or so. Wonder how big 'huge' is?

It's reportedly at the police station.

General discussion / Carlos Tevez to be Shot
March 07, 2010, 10:59:28 AM
After Tevez's comments last week re John Terry, and the belief that JT would've been shot in his country for 'what he did'. I wonder will the same thing happen to Tevez now?

I'll be honest. I am shocked at this. There appeared to be a notion that only Chelsea footballers lacked morality, but this suggests that morality is an absence in other footballers as well.

What next... Patrice Evra having an affair? Who knows!

General discussion / Caravans
September 14, 2009, 07:22:16 PM
Any of you gents or ladies own a caravan? Thinking about purchasing a static on a site, but not sure of the site. I have a few narrowed down but all have varying rules.

* Some have a 14 year rule where-by you must remove your van after 14 years i.e. buy a new one. Therefore we are looking one that does not enforce that rule.
* Some have dragonian rules where-by you are not allowed to drink on your decking after 9pm. Although I wouldn't want part central I'd prefer something where people are allowed to be mature as well.
* Site available 12 months of the year. Some sites only allow people on site between Easter and September. If I spend ~£15k on a van I'd like to decide when I can use it.
* Something reasonably priced. Speaks for itself.

I've been around most of the North Coast and Donegal sites, but especially interested in anyone with sites in Fermanagh?

Essentially a neighbour has fitted a projector and attached it to the roof, and everything is cabled up. This is the pic of what has attached to the TV.

However the same cables go the back of the projector but don't fit! Even this adapotor does not fit. I know very little about projectors, but I think this is the wrong cable, and it should a 3 going into the TV, and 2 going into the projector.

Any ideas?

General discussion / Memory Card Damage- Oh S**t.
June 20, 2009, 07:08:13 PM
Norf has just had a bit of a disaster.

It was the wee girls birthday, and I stopped to take some photos off the camera on the way home.

Went the 30ft from the car to the shop and realised my card was missing. Found it intact, on the road, not a mark on it. Happy days.

However put it back in the camera, and it says it's not initialised. Tried on the PC, and it's not reading it either. On closure inspection there is a wee bit of damage to it.

So.... I had 300 odd photos of the weins, etc.

How do I get them back?  ???

Australia are on the verge of being the first team to qualify for South Africa, and it's almost certain that the Koreans, and Japan will join them from section Asia.

It looks like Paraguay are a cert from South America, with the Argies, Brazil and probably Chile to join them.

The North and Central America group looks like anyone of the six could make it with the Yanks in the box seat at present.

The African groups are into their umpteenth stage and in reality are only starting to take shape.

In Europe, Spain almost home and hosed along with the Dutch. Portugal could be the surprise fallers in Europe.

Not sure if this is a piss take but will post anyhow...

This is one of those e-mails that if you don't send it, rest assured
someone on your list will suffer for not reading it. The original message was
written by a lady whose brother and wife learned a hard lesson this past
week.

Their house burnt down.. nothing left but ashes. They have good
insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good
news.

However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The
insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He
had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her
sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the
normal things....curling iron, blow dryer.

He kept saying to her, 'No, this would be something that would
disintegrate at high temperatures'. Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade
Plug-In, in the bathroom.

The investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He said that was the
cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the
plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are
made from is THIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to
prove that it even existed. When the investigator looked in the wall
plug, the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there.

Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built
in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go
out. She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light
would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting
too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once
it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign

The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in
fragrance device or night light anywhere in his house. He has seen too
many places that have been burned down due to them.

General discussion / Ivory Coast Football Disaster
March 30, 2009, 07:46:59 AM
A wall collapsed in an Abidjan stadium on Sunday sparking crowd panic that left at least 19 dead during a World Cup football match between Ivory Coast and Malawi, a medical source said.
First reports indicated part of a wall fell over in the stadium, prompting a crush of fans, the medical source said, adding that police may have fired tear gas and increased the panic.

Some 50,000 fans were packed in the Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Ivory Coast's biggest city to see European-based stars such as Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou of Chelsea and Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue of Arsenal play in the World Cup qualifying match.

Drogba scored twice and Kalou once in the game which the hosts won 5-0 as the drama unfolded.

Hundreds of people have been killed in stadium accidents in Africa over the last decade.

Just said on the radio that game was off due to a 'sensitive subject'. Anyone know anything?
