Just said on the radio that game was off due to a 'sensitive subject'. Anyone know anything?

Sunday's Super League match between Celtic Crusaders and Wakefield was postponed following a serious injury to a player in a reserve game at Maesteg.

The Crusaders were due to kick off against the Wildcats at Brewery Field in Bridgend at 1900 GMT.

But the Rugby Football League (RFL) confirmed in a statement issued at 1825 that the match had been called off "due to unforseen circumstances".

"The RFL will issue a statement later regarding this postponement."

More to follow.

Just announced on Sky that a young player from Wakefield died when he was playing for their youth teams today. He was aged 21. The club lost another of their players during pre season as well and now for another tragedy to them is hard to believe.

The Super League match between Celtic Crusaders and Wakefield that was due to be held in Bridgend tonight washas been called off 35 minutes before the scheduled 7pm kick-off after the death of one of the Trinity players who were involved in a reserve-team match in Maesteg earlier in the day. The match was scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports.

Leon Walker, a 21-year-old forward who had represented Yorkshire and England at junior levels and joined Wakefield from Salford last winter, went into convulsions after making a tackle in the 63rd minute of the match. He was airlifted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea, but pronounced dead on arrival.

It is the second tragedy to stun the Wakefield squad in the last six months following the death of Adam Watene, a Cook Islands prop who had been with the club for two years, when he was training at the gym last September. Two of Trinity's greatest ever players, David Topliss and Don Fox, also died last year.

very sad RIP
