Regarding Garvey's Appeal - Did I read yesterdays Irish News correctly......?

It stated that the Down County Board did not submit the fee for lodging an appeal in time??

Was there an admin error here or a lack of funds??

Interesting either way, I would have thought we would be doing all we could to get this overturned...

IS this match live anywhere? tv3? rte?

Typical BBC deferred nonsense - why dont they just park the bus on their GAA coverage.

Absolute joke.

I would continue to rest Danny & see how we fare out by half time.

Why did Dan McCartan not start last day out?

Ulster Council tried to get down & Armagh to have a double header for their qualifier game.

Neither was willing to give up home advantage.

Step back Cheif -  he is working with what he has at his disposal.

Maybe time to go back to the grassroots & schools, St Michaels Enniskillen had good lads coming through at college level a few years back.

If lads have thrown the towel in & declared themselves unavailable for the county because they didnt like the manager or for whatever reason - then they may have as much to answer as John O Neill has.

Louth's mouth-watering clash with Meath in the first round of the All-Ireland Football qualifiers will be played in Kingspan Breffni Park as a double-header with Cavan's clash with Longford.

The teams were paired in yesterday's draw in what will be a repeat of last year's Leinster Football final.

All of the qualifiers will take place on Saturday 25 June.

Wicklow's match with Sligo will take place in Aughrim at 7pm.

Offaly face Monaghan in Tullamore and Laois host Tipperary in Portlaoise at the same throw-in.

London and Fermanagh will begin the day's action in Ruislip, with their clash getting underway at 1:30pm.

Antrim host Westmeath at 2pm in Casement Park, while Clare take on Down in Ennis at 3pm.

Thats two newspaper articles in two days about the "faceless" critics on the discussion boards who are doing all the harm.  Looking back through the history of this board will show that last september, august, july when the county were building up a head of steam - there was nothing but positivity and everyone was full of praise for certain individuals.  They werent writing in the papers thanking us - no - they were lapping up the praise and watching their own heads getting bigger by the day.  Now the shit hits the fan and - as always - we express our opinion - and they throw their toys outta the pram.  Grow up county boys.  If you are good enough to take the praise - then take the constructive criticism.

You certainly werent on praising anyone p***k,

Your a complete tool   >:(

I think the term constructive criticism may be up for debate in this instance. Most of us get carried away with what we type on the spur of the moment comments, some are very well articulated.

There is constructive & destructive criticism.

Its James' job to give constructive, & its seems that this site has taken on the role - in some cases - of destructive.

Its a discussion board & we can all air our "views", but how far do we push the boat out before we fall into the band of destructive criticism . . . .

Mirror mirror on the wall.

Sorry to read the article on the back to todays irish news.

Best of luck John, you served the county well.

The armchair critics on here will have to take a good look in the mirror.
