Poor game played in poor conditions. Cork only needed to play well in patches to pull away from Mayo & that has to be a worry for the Connacht men. GAA need to stop having these league finals in Croke park.

Yeah, has made it a day out for the Rich. The Crowd for the Cup presentation had a County Junior B feel to it. Poor Auld Enda was the only Mayo man who had to stay on to endure it.

On the game Cork were in control even when they were not in control. They got the big break for the Mayo lad on goal who was pushed and went down the other side and a goal. Them are the breaks!

The ball turn-over from Mayo players (not under pressure) through wayward hand and foot passes was criminal, after all the hard work they had done to gain possession.

Well we (Mayo) have learned alot before the real stuff starts. Alot of which, I'm afraid we already knew.

By the way Mayo Mick how did the Meath Ladies do?

Cork looked easy winners for the whole of the second half.mayo were second best everywhere it seemed and could not get lined up for a decent shot at all. No complaints here, mayo were beaten by a better team on the day and looked very out of breath near the end as cork were steamrolling through.
Donnie Vaughan is one tough cookie. Well done Mayo on a good months work. I think Mayo are still missing something in the forward line, a player to get the goals is definetly needed to become champions.

Captain Obvious

On today's showing Mayo need forwards that can take more scores from play.

Been busy so no time to post. Expect we will win pulling up. 5-7 points. Our h/f line will destroy that Cork h/b line and Cork forwards will struggle to put up any sort of decent score.  Its important we win this and put down a serious marker.

Mayo took their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half.
Keeping a lid on the hype.
Clever move.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Tough enough gettin well beat by a better team.  :-[

Getting kicked when your down by a little pup like Brolly is hard to take. >:( He might be right about Vaughan diving. But Vaughan took a lot of abuse from Cork today and hearing that Gook saying he was delighted Cork stuck it to Mayo in the end was sickening.

Then again he always loved a winner did joe.

I find that the Mute button on the remote control comes in handy!

Poor match. Scrappy dead feel to it. Cork playing keep ball at the end made it look worse.

Yeah, the keep ball tactic from Cork along with the diminishing (Mayo) crowd with 5 minutes to go made the game look surreal. With the extra man at the back (the Goalkeeper), the poor Mayo players looked pure piggy in the middle.

I have always said, the League should not go to knockout. it's a League and the top team should always be League Champions. The Final is a dead rubber.

Also with the 3 to 4 Home versus away games, one game should be in a neutral venue. So you have 3 to 3 to 1.

Still though the Mayo/Kerry match was really high intensity and entertaining. Surprised that a final would then be so flat.
