FSG bought Liverpool for GBP 300 m in 2010. It's worth 5 billion now.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenway_Sports_Group

in 2019, FSG was criticized for a failed attempt by Liverpool to trademark the name "Liverpool".[22][3] The supporters' group Spirit of Shankly (SOS) campaigned against the move.[22] When the Intellectual Property Office refused the application because of the "geographical significance" of the name, a spokesman for SOS underlined that the name "belongs to the city of Liverpool and its people."[3]

In 2021, FSG was embroiled in a controversy over its attempts, along with the owners of a few other soccer clubs, to create a European Super League

All the clubs were socialist in the 1970s.

I went to see Tottenham vs Man United in Old Trafford in 1992. Fans were outside the ground complaining that Martin Edwards was "greedy". Martin Edwards was an amateur.

As the former Scotland international Gordon McQueen says: "Football is all about money and greed and everyone's involved in it."

Tottenham Hotspur are close to pushing their summer spending towards £400m by clinching the signing of Omar Marmoush from Manchester City after confirming the arrival of Savinho from the same club.

Savinho has been unveiled as a Tottenham player for an initial £75m, rising to £85m, and Marmoush is on the brink of following him for about £60m – taking the total value of the double deal to £145m.

The signing of Savinho means Tottenham have committed to spending £322m this transfer window, with the arrival of Marmoush taking that figure past £380m.
Crazy money.

Whats the record for a single window?

Liverpool last season close to 500 million pounds spent.  Jamie Carragher said last night it could be the worst transfer window in Premier League History.

Tottenham might surpass it this summer, crazy money for players that showed next to nothing for Manchester City.

Capt Pat

Liam Delap has joined Forest for 50 million a year after joining Chelsea for 30 million. He scored 2 goals for Chelsea and his value goes up by 20 million.

I still can't understand why glasner joined them. That bonkers owner could fire at any point.

I think in fairness they've already got his replacement so were preparing for him to go

Pool now in for Sarr would be another example of last minute scrambling....next few days gonna be wild I think

Yeah but strengthening one of your so-called rivals in the one place they need strengthening is madness. Should've shipped him off to Turkey or the likes.

Sarr will be 29 in February, surely  there are better options out there?

Least it stops him scoring his annual goal against pool 🤭

Offer rejected I think

Jake O'Brien allegedly on the look out for a new club after Moyes couldn't guarantee him more first team football as a centre back at Everton.

I think Moyes is making a balls of this as Branthwaite is injury prone, tarky's best days are behind him and Keane is a hit or a miss, sometimes in the same game.

Martinez is really being shown the door. Villa have moved on and he isnt in the plans anymore. This time last year he was sitting waiting for the call from Man Utd that never came. He had said his goodbyes. This summer was starting the same way with him, so time for him to go. He goes as Villa's best every keeper IMO. Good luck to him.

Plus his wages are very high, and his sale helps SCR restrictions

Yeah I get that but I think by shipping him to Chelsea it now guarantees Chelsea finish above them
