The random possession losses are the hardest to take. Just frustrating especially in a one point margin game.

Teagues defending for second Ros goal was woeful. Always get goal side. There may have been minimal contact but was annoying to see such laxness.

Roscommon certainly need to be ready for an ambush and be ready for a Tyrone team to use every trick and dark arts possible to get themselves over the line.

Unfortunately we don't have any expertise in the dark art any more.

This match proved such expertise are alive and well right down to the final score for Tyrone with how the free was engineered as could easily have been a free out for a drag down.

One of the oldest tricks in the book that, fair play for doing it though if the ref hasn't the brains to spot it

Play on, he slipped the point over anyway. Roscommon have another 20 seconds to do something although they lost KO anyway

Free in. Hot, sweaty day like that his arm was in no way trapped. In fairness to Baker he went for the ball and it's nearly an exceptional tackle.

Armagh18

Free out all day going by that video, cute hoorism.

Could so easily have been a free out.  It was 68.54 on the clock when the point was slipped over. 35 seconds was then used to take the free and then was 20 seconds left whereby the Roscommon keeper had to rush his kick out.

To be fair to Gough if I was ref myself I probably would have given the free to Tyrone thinking the Roscommon defender made a foul.  Unsatisfactory end to a very good game, I for one wouldn't have complained if that game went to extra-time.  Fitness and strength of each bench would be seen then.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Defender tried to wrap his hand round the ball, ended up behind the attacker with his hand still wrapped around the ball. Free in all day long.

This is why teams that want to run the clock down should never take their keeper up.  Time stops if a keeper comes up to take a free but it continues on if it is a forward taking it.  I'd guess if a back came up that the ref might also stop the clock for that, but clock just rolls on when a forward takes it

The whole hooter whichever way it's used is a load of nonsense. We got on just fine without it during the club championship and inter county underage competitions.

Meanwhile back in January Cawley stopped the clock for Kerrys last free and didnt restart till after ball was kicked.

Yed be sick of it, always do the little fellas....
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.
